New Manager

The problem with the random inexperienced guys is that when they were being hired by us 10-15 years ago, they were stepping into a club in a good position, doing all the right things. Even if you go back to Cooper, at least we had parachute payments (and he left as soon as those ran out).

Now, we have mainly poor players, dreadful recruitment and are only going one way. Even if the random inexperienced manager has a lot of potential, they probably won't realise it here.

This, totally.

We are now in a pretty horrific situation where we surely can't gamble on another Cooper/Martin/Williams, so the only realistic option is to pick a former Championship or lower PL coach who likely failed in their last role.

Lesser of two evils.

No joke here family member who lives in Birmingham works with Rob Edward’s mother in law, she’s saying he wants the job here but he’s out of the country due to kids half term in England, I’ll try and find out more as the week goes by 🤷‍♂️ he turned Derby down as they offered him a contract till end of the season.

Update - Lives in Birmingham with his wife and kids and are settled and won’t move, he travelled back and forth to Luton from there which is a quicker route than getting here, see what happens, but I’d rather someone who’s living in the city or near by to be honest.
Yeah but my nan's dog's chicken's uncle worked with Edwards' niece's aunty's uncle in law and he's not interested

Just having a laugh pal, Edward's not for me..
Not for me either especially not living in distance of Swansea tbh.

Not that a makes a difference but I was first told about them working with his family on January 16th so it’s not just been plucked out of thin air now we’re suddenly looking for a manager 🤣

But I hope we stay away from Buckingham, Edward’s etc.

Some cracking blanking out the names there, I reckon there's a job calling for you at MI5 😂

I completely agree.

And I know I likely sound incessant, but Uwe Rosler is it for me, if he'd consider us that is. Over the course of the almost 700 matches he's managed, he's won 45% of them. Granted it's mostly Scandinavian top divisions, but it also includes the Championship, League One, and the Bundesliga.

He's experienced, but not old. A former player who had a 22 goal season for Man City in the mid-90s, but has also managed nearly 700 matches while maintaining a good record. He's a tactician who actually played the game on the highest level.

Most importantly, we can likely afford him.

If he joined Fleetwood and Wigan I’m sure we could afford him.

He was also sacked by Fleetwood and Wigan, which I cannot look past

With Wigan he was sacked in November having taken them to a FA Cup Semi and the playoffs the season before. They still dropped that season. I don't blame him there.

As for Fleetwood, he took them to the playoffs his first season with them.

Brendan Rodgers was sacked by Reading before he came to us. I'm not saying that Uwe is Brendan, but managers either move on to a bigger club or they get sacked. Most get sacked.
