• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

The right manager in the right environment can thrive. Brendan is proof of that with us.
This decision is actually so vital, git's giving me anxiety!! lol.
We just can't afford to fuck this up
Its not just the decision of manager, Coleman and the club as a whole need to have an internal review and deal with the dysfunctional elements that serve to undermine everything that the manager that he employs needs to do his job successfully.

The odds are we’ll choose poorly. Sometimes you get lucky (Martinez, Rodgers - our 4th choice at the time- etc) but it is Russian Roulette whatever Gonzo may claim.

We need a foreign manager who moves to Swansea, embraces the culture and says- judge me by my actions.

.... I'll get my coat 😉🏃‍♂️

Can't see us paying compensation for anyone outside of a very low-cost league. MLS isn't as high ranking as it thinks, but imagine it would take a fair whack to pay off Minnesota for Ramsay; and that's before we consider the fact that we'd be battling relegation with a 33 y/o manager who has one season of US football on his CV.

Someone mentioned Ramsay yesterday.
We definitely looked at him before opting for the bald man.
Wasn't he a youth coach at Man Utd before going to MLS?
Again, is it the right time for another young, untested manager?

I believe he worked with us as a youth coach before having more senior coaching roles with Rob Page at Wales and Ole Gunnar at United, before getting the big first job in the MLS.

Would seem to have been one of the u21 and u18 coaches 2013-2017. Moved to Chelsea and the United as u23s coach and promoted to support the first team. Good reputation for player development. Looks to have done a sound job at Minnesota.

May even big Dennis Lawrence -one of his current assistants. An appointment not unlike Brendan in some ways. Or Paul Clement in others. Seems a bit of a gamble. Would not be against this.

He’d have to be insane to move from his current job in MLS to this situation if there is anything to this; maybe his family has not settled there and want to come back to the UK.
