Rory Stewart is neither an MP or a member of the Conservative party so about a relevant as I am.

I knew he was teaching and quit the conservatives.. but he's the only one who could theoretically challenge with words

Completely agree. But what is actually done to break, or even interrupt that cycle? I don't see much changing.

Further to that, I have relatives who only work two days a week, if they work one day more they actually lose money. Someone needs to explain to me who benefits from this sort of thing? It does more harm than anything.

Will they lose money or lose benefits? UC calculates what you are due and then minuses anything you earn and then pays the balance. The principal is pretty sound in the case if employed people, doesn’t work for self employed people, and the amount they expect people to live on is low.

Lose benefits, housing, childcare and council tax increase and UC goes down. So there is zero incentive to work extra hours. The system is broken.

The Hateful Eight.

Braverman. Terrifyingly stupid.

Badenoch. Just terrifying.

Those two are the nightmare scenario. Of the others:

Hunt. A no mark with no chance.

Zahawi. Looked like a right twat taking the chancellor’s job and then 10 minutes later telling his boss to resign.

Truss. So inept she could be very entertaining. Born again brexiteer and positioned herself as the continuity Johnson candidate. Which suggests she hasn’t been paying much attention.

Mordaunt. Somehow relatively unsullied by the government’s shambles despite being a minister in it for the last nine months. Winner.

Sunak. Literally fined for exactly the same thing Johnson should have resigned for. Dubious tax arrangements are second nature to Tories so won’t suffer for that, in fact will probably win him a few votes among the membership. Probably final two alongside Mordaunt.

Tugendhat. Doomed from the start as he’s commonly referred to as Tugentwat. No chance anyway.

We are quite simply doomed.

Don’t forget Sunak pissing our money away during the pandemic and refusing to support 3 million business owners, because it’s too difficult to work out where dividends come from, absolute tosspot.

Will they be able to get all of the boundary changes through before the next GE?

Depends when the next election is really. If they go full term then yes. If they don’t, probably not.

Rishi isn't playing a smart game here, he should be distancing himself from the clown unless he really thinks theres a substantial element of members who are loyal to Johnson and swayed by his remarks.

Tugenhadt is looking like a very dark horse while Sunak and Truss tear each other apart.

Check out the comments in the Daily Mail, there’s thousands there who want Boris back and cant see he’s done anything wrong. It’s mental.

In my opinion she’s a terrible Minister and sums up quite a lot of what’s wrong in Government.

Nice to see dear Robert has learnt nothing from the past 3 years. Hitching his wagon to the populist candidate again
