Next PM?

Sunak is slowly slipping and looking worse by each day, this mornings interview was a car crash

Committed to Rwanda policy

Refused to acknowledge the 'Ready for Rishi' website has been live since December

'I don't cut taxes to win elections, I win elections to cut taxes' - wtf is that?

I think he is going to blow it in the 90th minute

The truth in all of this is, it doesn't really matter who gets the job, their Tories so their a bunch of c*nts no matter what, so don't matter who gets the gig

Yes it does.

This is the problem Paul, with respect. They aren’t all the same.

Of the ones left Badenoch is absolutely terrifying. She is so far right it’s insane.
Someone like Mordaunt or Tugendhat or even Sunak may be awful, or incompetent or economically different to you. But they aren’t hate filled monsters of the extreme religious right when it comes to social matters.

I tell you something. If the argument over abortion reaches here and I bet you it does, Badenoch being anywhere near number 10 would be horrific,

The ‘left’ HAS to wise up. Otherwise we will go further and further towards the extreme hate of the Trumpians.

From Sinister Six to Frightful five.

Mordaunt is nailed in to be in the final two I reckon. Sunak is in a tricky spot because the more exposed the more it becomes apparent how useless he is. And he’s got the Johnson taint all over him. No idea why Tom T is soldiering on. Did you hear he used to be a solider dontcha know.

Braverman is out so that’s a relief. But I’ve got a sneaking feeling that Badenoch will benefit more from that than Truss who is no campaigner at all. I’m starting to think Badenoch might sneak into the final two. What a terrifying prospect.

If Badenoch gets into the final two, she wins. The Nazi psychos in the party and the media will lap her up and they'll destroy Penny Mordor or Slimeball Sunak.

It's unbelievable where we are.

Starmer will be praying for Sunak or Truss, or labour's poll lead dissolves overnight and his do nothing and be boring strategy is wrecked. If the polls look good, the new Fuehrer might even chance a snap poll before things really turn to turd. Probably not, as it would take some real backbone and none have anything other than opportunistc shithousery in their armoury.

Consider this for a moment.
A temporary windfall tax on energy providers and financial institutions which will raise £6 billion over two years and which will fund -
Train journey subsidies for all commuter tickets nationally which will be free between September and December
1 million free scholarships for young people
A new digital skills programme for young people
A new national centre for public health to coordinate the fight against covid
12,000 new affordable homes to be built in the capital, 60% of which will be in public ownership
Investment in new fire fighting personnel and equipment to counter the effects of global warming
New support for the agricultural sector
New programmes to fight corruption and sexual exploitation

This is on top of a mandatory petrol/diesel subsidy for EVERYONE of 18p per litre, government enforced since April.
Electricity subsidies in the form of a cap on the price of gas for power generation and the reduction of VAT on electricity bills, the latest to 2.5%.

Is this some wish list to be implemented by one of the Tory leadership candidates? Is it feck. This is the program of a REAL government, here in Spain, the above measures announced by President Pedro Sanchez two days ago in parliament, and the bottom two items having been in place for four months already. This is the government of the Spanish socialist party. They make Boris and his shitshow look like the total disaster and laughing stock of the world it is.
By the way, my monthly electricity bill has been coming in at about 75 euros per month (£65 ish pounds per month) for several months now, for a three bedroom villa with an electric boiler, a swimming pool pump and airco to run. How's yours?

We used to have a great Public Health Service in the old PHLS and even HPA from the 1990s. Systematically destroyed since 2010. We better hope there is not another animal disease like Foot and Mouth as APHA is on its arse and blown several years budget dealing with Avian Influenza.
Large part of agriculture are on the verge of collapse, We will need to import more lower quality food from Asia and the Americas.

I agree with everything you say. And Lisa, Ace, Ebo et al. There are people in this election who make Thatcher look like Tony Benn

Don't know if you've seen the Guardian headlines this morning, Prof, but the new BMA Chairman is saying an all out doctors strike is inevitable. As well as pay, he is saying it is being considered to expose that fact that the NHS is on the point of collapse after 12 years of Tory mismanagement and underfunding. He has given specific examples, including the state of the ambulance service.
British people need to wake up and get rid of this shitshow of a government before it's too late. The UK is becoming a third world country before my eyes. I'm well out of it, but it makes me so sad for my family and friends.

Saw it last night. All I can say I am pleased my mother is resident in Spain (Tenerife) as she had a rapid cataract operation and quick screening for a cancer scare.

I met my cousin, a GP, for a dog walk a month or so back. She is in her late forties and completely disillusioned. When her boys finish school (in about five years) I can see her thinking about packing up. That will be another experienced GP lost. The demands of the pandemic have been huge and you can't fund health care on hypocritical hand claps.

People wondered why I was not out clapping and banging pans. I hope they realise why now.

To be honest I earn enough to get through the current crisis, but even we will need to make some cut backs.

I honestly don't know how anyone on a family income below 60K are going to manage.

I'll say that again-a £60K family income just to live a vaguely 'normal' life.

People need to wake up to what they are voting for.

Makes me laugh out loud every time a Conservative appears on tv and says that they have “such a talented bunch” in the competition!
I never thought I would have any respect for the likes of Heseltine but at least he and Paton have called this bunch of self serving crooks out.
I’m not hugely happy with Labour either in that they seem to hold back on calling out obvious issues with this joke we call a ‘democracy’. Still better than the sexual deviant crooks we have in power though!!

Not that I’d ever vote for them, or know much about them personally, but thought Tommy Tugboat spoke the best last night and “won” the debate. Truss and Rishi have had the natural coached out of them, like a pair of robots.

The NHS is in huge trouble. We’ve got an increasing population, an ageing population, massive waiting lists pre and as a result of covid, huge difficulties in retaining and attracting staff, the Ambulance Service is in crisis and lots of people don’t know what’s going on. I think a huge number of people are completely disconnected from reality, their focussed on tik tok, Snapchat and celebrity drivel and the world around them is falling apart. The ignorance of the masses is great for government as it means they can crack on.

Our local Health Board recently announced the closure of a what appears to be a small GP practice in Pembrokeshire as they weren’t able to attract a replacement for the incumbent who was retiring. Attracting staff to West Wales is hard going.

Nurses are leaving in droves and going to agencies where they can earn a lot more, this only sucks resources out of the NHS and leaves less for patient care.

I’ve worked in the private and public sectors for over 35 years. During the last 11 years, the effects the austerity program have been huge and the long term damage is frightening. There should always be good governance, resources used appropriately and best value for money the goal, there is always waste but the line we are being spun from the government about enormous levels of waste doesn’t exist.

Penny Mordaunt just made a right tit of herself on BBC1.

It's the proverbial race to the bottom, which is why if Tugenhadt can hang on he may just find himself near the top in the turnover.

He used to be a soldier mind. He may have mentioned it.

He ain’t getting in the final two though. Gone by tomorrow.
