The EFL announces the 2026-27 season will begin on the weekend of Friday 14 to Sunday, 16 August.

The EFL has announced the 2026-27 season will begin over the weekend of Friday 14 to Sunday, 16 August.

The Championship, League One and League Two campaigns will all kick off on the same weekend, with round one of the Carabao Cup taking place 7-9 August.
