Good god no, not him in charge. FFS.
No something like an independent task force, made up of people who could actually do a job and more importantly people who actually know what they are doing. This should have been sorted in any contingency plan, specially designed for such a situation. Proper preparation prevents pi$$ poor performance. Anyways been a long week.

Wouldn’t argue with that. Science makes the decisions. Sounds sensible. Only issue is that scientists don’t have to worry about the economic and cultural consequences of decisions based purely on science.

Yeah sort of, but on top of that in my world the task force would comprise of every professional from every discipline from logistics to mental health experts and much much more. You see if you employ clowns, you get, a circus, which exactly what we've ended up with.
