• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Now Bale wants to buy Cardiff as well as Plymouth

It is incredible that (even though they were not great) 9 senior pros have left Cardiff out of contract - to be replaced by. absolutely nobody....
IF this crop of youngsters that everyone keeps having a tug over are not as good as their publicity - this is a squad with serious challenges in a League 1 dogfight.
The knock on effect on their ability to support an academy also presents us with an opportunity - as funds we might leverage from investors that are used for that purpose are excluded from FFP calculations.
Lets go for the jugular and upgrade our academy right now!

IF, a deal is going through this week, then maybe BBM doesn' t know what kind of budget he is working with. Tan's, promote the U21's, or, the new owners here is a 30m transfer budget.

That's why I am hoping no deal happens, or, if it does, then not until after the window closes.

Apparently Bale and his consortium offered £3.5m for the club 🤣🤣🤣
This not a pisstake but 3.5M is probably a very fair and possibly generous offer if the club owes Tan money. I know he converted debt to equity but he still has a hefty chunk of change to pull out, and add that to all the other debts the new owners will be buying, in reality it’s a good offer for something that without Tan is for all intents and purposes insolvent and and worth the grand total of fuck-all, just one big fat zero.

Whoever takes over will be hamstrung by relegation to L1.

Cardiff's revenues weren't amazing anyway, but TV money drops off significantly when you hit the third tier, plus you lose a % of bums on seats.

Also, starting this season, the FFP rules that allowed Birmingham and Wrexham to go wild with owner/investor equity have been tightened significantly: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c36e4068113o

So, unless they find a way to quickly and significantly raise revenue, and/or fancy flouting FFP, there is no quick fix for them.

For a club that usually loves a quick fix, that's going to be a huge problem.
