I don't know a lot about their players, but they're essentially the same bunch who achieved relegation positions for two seasons in a row in the Championship under multiple managers. It's a bold claim to say they have one of the best sides in the division based on the evidence.

They'll definitely have one of the best teams in league 1. If they don't get promoted with this squad it will be a definite failure. There are no huge spenders like Wrexham or Brum or sleeping Giants like Southampton, Ipswich, Leeds etc.

No guanratee that makes them better than the rest though. Huddersfield and Stockport look very strong, as do Luton

No guarantee either way. We wouldn't be having this discussion if there was. Stockport are building well but aren't ready yet and Huddersfield have had too much upheaval and unproven manager. Cardiff should finish above both. Luton are the only ones I'd confidently say can finish above the scum. Plymouth won't be far off though.

Not sure but the last team to suffer back to back relegations to League 1 was Sunderland (a 'bigger' club than Cardiff by some distance) and it took them 4 seasons to get back to the Championship.

I believe Wolves were the previous team and they did it first time. So history would suggest we have no real guide as to what will happen with Cardiff. The amount of departures and lack of signings doesn't suggest they're going to storm the league however.

Only Birmingham bounced straight back last season and they spent a fortune in the process. The year before none of the relegated sides did. Nor the year before that.
