Southampton wouldn’t surprise me they’re in the market for a striker to replace Broja, they could offload any fee we owe for Obafemi and may give us Armstrong in return.

He’s off on the bus to Charlton, he was in training this morning, although doesn’t mean a deal hasn’t been agreed somewhere, would be gutted if he left.

If he's on the bus, there is no way on earth a deal has been agreed. They wouldn't dare risk an asset they're valuing at £20m, let alone in a pre-season game.

They have just signed a forward from Bordeaux for £12 million, but they do seem keen to get rid of Armstrong, who hasn't managed the step up

I do have a bit of a doubt though. Seems like he may be on some club's lists, but the delay in interest may show he's not at the top. If he plays tomorrow it'll tell us a lot I reckon. Noticeable Downes didn't play before he went to Spam...

Yeah I’m not as upbeat as Ux with the situation to be honest, although understand that’s where we are as a club, sales are needed and the club have always made that clear.

I think we’ll still be leaking goals left right and centre though and without Piroe’s goals we could find ourselves in sh*t street and quickly.

I think he’ll be in squad tomorrow but there is work going on behind the scenes regarding him leaving I have no doubt at all regarding that, and we’ll see players coming in once that happens.

We got a good deal from Wet Spam for Downes, probably over the odds, many in the Championship are running at a bigger deficit than us, trust me, and, I'll bet, if we get anything like 12/15 million for Piroe only a fraction will be reinvested for players incoming.
The well is running dry, perhaps Obafemi can get a few early doors and get flogged in January? (To offset our deficit obvs) ...

I posted on the other site about 2 clubs being interested, was even informed that one made a terrible offer of around 5M.
No mentions of who the teams were but one was a foreign club.

Not sure how much truth is in it but according to the ITK posters on another forum, no offer or firm interest in Piroe thus far.

The sale of Downes (gone) and Piroe (probably) will, after sell on clauses, make upwards of 25 million profit hopefully, let's see how much is handed over for a push towards the promised land.

Aye, but two seasons of a 15m deficit, and we didn't sell a bean last year, wipe it out. Whole approach is madness IMO.

Interesting week or two ahead I reckon. I'm not convinced there's real interest yet. If there is, then it'd be insane not to put a fair chunk back into the squad.
