Ronald The Show Pony

It was a rare match I couldn’t make today, but he normally runs his socks off until the 98th minute even when things aren’t falling his way. We’re not Leeds with tens of millions to spend on the likes of Dan James, so we can’t ask for more than the players to give everything. Ronald does that in my opinion.
I like him, today he was awful.

He's not quick enough to consistently beat his fullback around the outside. He has shown some ability in cutting in. Naturally we've mostly tasked him with doing the former instead of the latter.

Today was a bit bonkers. He started on the Left and did reasonably well, then got moved to the right and struggled for the rest of the game.
When I've seen him on the left he seems much more effective. I didn't get the switch today.

If we can tout a brief showreel and play on his nationality, I think I'd roll the dice on 5mill

I think it was MPH that swayed Williams thinking.. after dribbling backwards towards our goal and f*cking right up to give leeds their equaliser.. in his proper position he looks ok, luxury player, but he didn't know what the f*ck he was doing

He played well in that role against Oxford.

Some you win some you lose. He's a young lad finding his way.

Just to set the record straight, nothing would give me greater pleasure than for Ronald to start firing, hopefully at Derby on Wednesday.

I don't think anyone thought otherwise Jaxs.

One thing that I think has changed on this forum over the years is a decline in posters with irrational hatred for a player/players. I'm thinking certain posters attitudes towards the likes of de Vries, Gower, Routledge, de Guzman.

Even when we are frustrated with a player, I think everyone here wants to be proved wrong. There's more of a weary acceptance that the players aren't generally that good and everyone is doing the best they can.

A prolonged spell on the bench might do him the world of good.

Pretty sure he's played in nearly every fixture since January.

Agree, but we haven't got the luxury of that until Eom comes back

Still very optimistic about the next few months, build a nice platform this year for a push next

🤣 wasn't that just one poster. You can add Naughts to the list. De Guz was one of the finest players we've ever had. Doris was a bit dodgy mind...

We can't keep flogging a dead horse.

Glory Nzingo, Aimar Govea even Abdulai could get a run.

I'm with you on the optimistic side of things. Even though we lost yesterday, I thoroughly enjoyed the game.

I was definitely thinking of one poster for the first two players! Although I remember Dimi in his original incarnation was also very critical of Dorus. I remember other posters had longstanding issues with JDG and Routs.
