Even going into the last 5-10 mins of the 90, I remember thinking that I don't really care if WBA sneak an undeserved winner as I'd seen enough from us at that point to feel positive for the future.I wanted to us to win of course and I'm gutted we didn't, but sometimes you can be gutted after a defeat and it's an all encompassing dread that the defeat was another step towards the sh*tter for your team, but today, I just see it as a brief set-back on an upward trajectory - providing the club gets the missing pieces of the jigsaw right...
Agree but the.missing part of the jigsaw is improving our taking better options in attack and being more clinical
How.much can be trained or just natural?

We had maybe 4 excellent chances today apart from the 2 goals.I
Out general play has improved but the next step for consistency seems a bit off yet

Bit shit losing that aye, we by far the better team.

No escaping goats from me though.

We are playing better with every passing game. Today is what it is, we go again.

That old fella looks like he’ll be alright an all.

Uppafuckingswans!

I don’t think it’s a given either. I just think the cup is good for supporters, good for revenue, good for the manager to try things, good for momentum etc.

Losing that today won’t have done us any favours.
I agree re revenue and from the perspective of the manager and it’s always a shame to get knocked out of any competition.

This season though, I’m not particularly sorry to see us have less games to play. For me, this is the most under threat our position in the Championship has been since relegation, I’d rather us just have one competition to compete in. I am fully aware that I’m in the minority though.

Quite surprised that Tymon didn't take a penalty. Excellent left foot and plenty of experience. 🤷‍♂️
Clearly doesn’t fancy one after the one he missed in the league. Two shoot outs and hasn’t taken one.

That’s fine though, would rather people who want to take them - shouldn’t be forcing players up if they don’t want to.

Well that was a test of the old ticker boys bach.
Should have won by final whistle but no shame tonight despite disappointment. We were the better team. Impressed with our veteran too.
Uppaswans!

VIP doesn’t get himself more into the game is the truth. He had two decent chances with his head and missed both. And in the periods where we were full of energy and pressing all over the pitch, he was ambling barely breaking a sweat.
Absolute nonsense about VIP, I was there and the guy run his guts out, it’s not his game and I felt sorry for him today, could have done better with the whipped crosses but I get more service on my phone inside the ground than he does.

Agreed, we are playing much better now and there is clear progress being made. I haven’t read through all the posts but was expecting some people to make escaped goats but I thought everyone played well.
Even Wales looked ok considering the lack of game time the lad has had. I feel there is definite potential there, not a great pen but yalcouas was dreadful 🤣. The latter though had a fantastic input on the game.
Onwards and upwards, doesn’t feel that bad losing when you can see steps in the right direction being made.

I thought VIP did well today, he linked play well, pressed well, had a few efforts and on another day could have scored.

Agree with this and only the players and management will know the answer to your question. Some players can improve, some just struggle to make the correct decision or remain calm under pressure in actual games.

What is certain though is that we need to look very closely at that aspect when recruiting in the summer. We desperately need a couple of players who make the right pass/cross and finish clinically in the final 3rd.

Just got back from watching yet another uninspired performance, can’t argue with the increased effort levels but footballing quality is a flat line….Albion fans summed us up with their chant….how shit must you be we’re winning away, no need to add anything else.

I love the directness of Wales with the ball at his feet, warms the cockles. Hope he either gets a proper run or goes out on loan.

The FA Cup doesn’t hold any magic for me like it used to, the final nail was removing the replay. Not so much for me as I don’t care who we draw, but the lower league teams and non leagues boys.

Should have beaten them in the 3 matches we have played them recently. Won't get far continually letting teams off the hook.
