I agree, the number of times we lost the ball cheaply in midfield to initiate Forest attacks was unreal, we got away with murder there. Also, the sheer physical difference between Premiership and Championship players was evident, we often lost 50/50 challenges through unequal strength in the tackle.
One other observation concerning their first goal. Key needs to learn that he must get an early challenge in on his winger who is receiving the ball almost on the touchline, and not keep backing off until the guy has dribbled well into the penalty area and has time to pick out his killer pass.
Having said all that, massive plaudits for our boys and management team, what grit, what spirit, what goals! Fabulous, I'm still buzzing twelve hours later.
I passed the time on a long and boring train journey today by reading the matchday thread on what I presume is Forest's premier supporters forum. OMG the entitlement was extraordinary! Haven't they spent most of the past 25 years in the second and third tiers? OK, so they have assembled an expensive squad, but still... With a few honourable exceptions who congratulated us on a deserved win (some, I suspect, ironically), they were utterly deluded about how big a team they are. So far from the Liverpool and West Ham supporters who applauded us off the pitch after we beat them. I hope the away supporters in the ground yesterday had more class.
Respect is due to @jackharris for going on there to (respectfully, with no wind ups) provide them with some context.
Having said that if you do have an hour or so to spare, it is actually amusing to read the thread, particularly the pages between around 20:45 and 22:00 last night!
