• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Sometimes it is not what you say - but what you don't say that is the most interesting. Take Sheehan's comments in his recent interview.
1. We have no bad eggs in the squad
2. The culture has totally changed
At the risk of starting a bad eggs topic - who do we think are the rotten eggs that have left the nest or been cast asides??
Shall we start with Grimes and Williams and go from there as a starter for 10?

That was interesting wasn’t it…

Well, I’m going to the game tomorrow, So looking forward to this. Since the tickets were bought. Can’t bloody wait, would like to see Wales given a go, even if he doesn’t start, put him on early doors depending on how the game is going .

If rumours were to be believed then Grimes wasn’t as Mr nice guy as people made out, I heard a few snippets that he certainly was rude to multiple staff at the club.

I don't think Williams would be included in any 'bad eggs' group. It was clearly not working and he was a dead man walking for the last couple of months of his time here, but at the risk of being too superficial about it, he always seemed like a 'top bloke' and not someone I'd see creating a bad culture somewhere or being a 'bad egg'.

Grimes on the other hand - I can see in that light - the smarmy so and so.

Bear in mind a lot of this 'culture' talk is hot air anyway. Go on a run of defeats and it's all doom and gloom and 'rotten to the core' again.

Anyway, really looking forward to this game. HMS Piss The League is back out to sea after the win last weekend and the shipping forecast for tomorrow is looking good.

It's interesting, I know a former player who played a handful of first team games and now plays for TNS. He says that Grimes was great with the young players but that Cullen was an arrogant shit.

No smoke without fire I would imagine. If he was a dominant midfielder who always had positive impacts on games I’d understand him playing despite the personality flaws.

But he was feckin useless, the occasional good long pass very much diluted by endless balls back to defenders who rightfully expected captain fantastic Hoddle mk 2 to do something with it. Hid between his central defenders and shirked any responsibility.

I’m glad Sheehan saw it and dealt with it but why did every other manager put up with him? Was he the master Freemason at the club. Was it witchcraft? I have no explanation ! I used to get pelters from some on here but look at the difference between him and Galbraith. We’ve suddenly got a player who really does seem like he loves being here and is going all out to get us results.

I suppose with a board and owners not keen on spending money Grimes thought he’d have his own little empire here where he could just drift around the pitch aimlessly until he retired. Thankfully that all changed.

Anybody think we will start with the same X1 as the Blades game?
