S25/26 | Swansea 1 (Vipotnik) Watford 1 | Att: 15,543 | The Official Match Thread | The Swansea.com Stadium | The EFL Championship

I've struggled to get a measure on Eom ever since he came but you could well have nailed it there. Always looks vaguely lively, technically decent but lightweight and next to no end product.
Just need more people to take their blinkers off, the championship is too physical for him.

The two Swedish boys have to start for me because at least they have shown to bring pace and energy to the team and one of the midfield playing today have to drop out.

With all these busy energetic midfielders it’s imperative that we have a striker for them to work off. Cullen just can not be that player. If Vip can’t do it stick the new boy Stamenic up there
We create zero. The best ‘striker’ in the world would get nowhere. Forget strikers until we actually decide to play in a way that creates any chances. Unless something changes, which I sincerely hope it does, we wouldn’t score before Christmas unless it’s something out of the blue. This is the Boro game all over again so far. Sheehan needs to do some managing now. A second half like that would be wholly unacceptable.

That said, Watford have played us perfectly. Compact and close the space and break quickly now and again.

Oh, that loan guy from BHA. 19? He looks 50!

Poor first half. Being outmuscled in midfield by an energetic, athletic and physically stronger team. Shows up the weakness in our ‘small but skilful’ group a bit. It’s why we bought the new bloke I imagine - for games like this.

In the main though, our weaknesses are Cullen and Eom both of whom are having very very poor games.
Changes needed. They should be at least 2 up and we’re lucky to be in with a shout.

Problem is who to bring in up front that can beat their offside trap. Hence why we’re looking so desperately for a new striker.
Inoussa needs to come on for Eom who is constantly out of position leaving their right side wide open. And someone needs to grab hold of the ball and start passing it in our midfield. We can’t possibly win a game of lumping it up, they are just too big and powerful.

Watford’s manager outsmarted us first half. Didn’t allow us to play football, correctly sussed our weakness in set-pieces, used the offside trap well. Let’s see if Sheehan can be the smarter manager in the second half. If we are going to have a good season we need to be able to play teams like this.

Of course a striker capable of scoring from the opportunities we have created would help a lot. And one able to stay onside.

He's like a dog thats escaped its lead in a park where a game is going on.
I don't think that's quite fair. He's been poor today, but part of that is that he is too small and is being bullied off the ball. When he turns with space in front of him he's looked dangerous. It's hardly his fault that Cullen can't lead a line

Agree cadders, sheehan needs to change it up as more of the same will result in defeat. Get Inoussa on sharpish fyo Eom for starters

this is where the physical side of our side is lacking muscle and height wise and they give little away do watford
