S25/26 | The MATCHDAY Thread | Preston North End v Swansea City | Kick Off: 7.45pm | The EFL Championship | Deepdale

I think it'll be 5 at the back, with Franco and Galbraith in the middle and Cullen and Widdell being roaming attacking midfielders/inside forwards behind Idah. Similar to how we set up against Man City, with Cullen playing instead of Inoussa.

Hopefully Inoussa has a minor injury and has not been knocked off the bench for Santos. If Inoussa and Stamenic were available, we will have some big decisions to make about the bench. Maybe the two loanees in Benson and Yalcouye drop out.

Wingbacks with a midfield square as opposed to a diamond?
Its not where I wanted to see Widell play but its good that he gets his first start

Also glad to see that the rumours of Vip facing six weeks out was just nonsense :)

Interesting line up. I'll wait before I make any judgments, I like that Casey is still in and Widell starts. Is VP not that badly injured then? Rumour of him being out for 6 weeks being false then.

Distinct lack of pace in that team.
Be interesting if we play as many long balls as we did in the first half against Charlton because there's only really Idah who can chase them.

Never believe rumours about injuries until the club announces it and even then id take sone of the timescales with a pinch of salt! 😂

I was calling for more attacking through central areas - what I didn't envision was a team where we set up without any of our many wingers
Key and Tymon can provide some width - so let's grab the popcorn and see how it rolls out!
Maybe a master stroke or alternatively the baby going out with the bath water!

Widdel and Cullen start in a game away to a tough side under the lights

Master stroke or madness..

Have a feeling we might be chasing this game very early on

Listened to the Swans Cast preview with a PNE fan and he said they're a front-foot attacking in yer face kinda team that gets the ball to their danger players quickly. If that's true, we need to match that attitude and aggression from the off or it could get nasty early on. Unlikely to be a 'let the game come to us' match.

That's exactly the line up I'd picked in my own mind for tonight, with the exception of Inoussa instead of Cullen. Has the lad got a knock, he's not even on the bench?
Big night for Cullen tonight, he needs to get his finger out of his arse and put in a performance. So glad to see Vip's injury not as bad as rumoured.

I do like the fact that we are trying something different RW 😀. I was so bored with watching us play, the first 9 games and my opinion is that it has slightly improved.

I hope it is "the master stroke". Not to sure about Cullen though 🤔. I think Franco maybe having a busy time on his own 1-3 win for the Swans (same as the last time I was at Deepdale) 😀

Saw that same preview, not gonna be an easy game tonight.
