S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Blackburn Rovers 1 Swansea City 2 | Attendance: 11,013 (372 away) | Tues 30th Sept | The EFL Championship

Aye, it's a shame he didn't want to come back here. Wouldn't have him ahead of Vipotnik at this point, but would be a good option off the bench. Still, Idah just came off the bench and got an assist, so positive sign for him.
6 goals 3 assists in 8 games from him.

Excellent result. Just seen the goals back as didn’t get a chance to watch it tonight. So good from Franco. Be nice to get something against Leicester.
Maybe I should of watched the highlights. We was terrible in first half. To be fair Cullen had something to prove and came on. Eom defense side is questionable
Need to start Ronald and Yalcouye on Saturday.

Still don’t think it’s a penalty, Burge withdrew his trailing leg right under his body and the attacker tried to milk it. He didn’t help himself going to ground though
Was there even contact?

Sky showed a great angle and there was no touch on him.

Great three points. Lacklustre performance. Lucky with the pen but we’ve had a few the other way.

Our starting midfield doesn’t work. Nor the one we started with on Saturday. The players are too much of the same. Nice, neat and tidy but no real creativity. It may not be popular but I think Galbraith was weaker today and last weekend.

Need to change shape. Miles better with a 10.

Also need to stop sitting back and lumping it when we go ahead. Could easily have cost us again.

Positives though - Fantastic goal from Franco and fantastic poaching of the ball and cut back from Idah and good finish from Cullen.

Two or three great saves as well.

All in all a good evening and we move forward. Hopefully learn from it.

At least it is an option for us. I like Inoussa, but we could really do with him starting to contribute some goals or assists.
The goal on the weekend was all down to him?
Reacted first to a loose ball, dribbled past one and cut it back to Ronald who scuffed his shot but ironically got the assist when Vipotnik flicked it in

Biggest difference this year is the bench - actual players who can actually play and are motivated to make a statement.
I think AS learnt from the Brum defeat - he should have played some cards that night when it was obvious we were struggling - but tonight instead of sitting on his hands he made the changes that ultimately won the game.
Our biggest issue is our defending out wide - Tymon offers a ton going forward but oh my he is terrible defending - and Key is exactly the same without offering half as much going forward.
We need to grab games by the scruff - otherwise we will get exposed in this league. The Blackburn right back was decent - but we made him look like prime time Cafu

If any team get some consistent performances together, they could quite easily get in the top 6

Not sure what view the ref had of the Cuntwell pen shout but viewed from behind him, it looks like his momentum made him skid as he turned just before Burgess made any contact. I'm not saying that is what happened, I'm saying that's what it looks like in some views.

Agree with that, he makes things happen. Too simplistic to look at goals and assists. He gets them by proxy, injecting attacking intent into the game. I don’t think he’s a goal scorer as such, but neither was Ronald last season.

I guess we’re all delighted with the result but personally I don’t see much of a shape to us at the moment.
Maybe it’s just a case of bedding in and coming up with the right combinations, we’ve played some pretty ordinary sides this season so far and I did expect more from a squad of players who by our standards have cost a few quid.
On a more positive note this division looks wide open and we should be looking to challenge for a play off spot at the very least.

None from what I saw, Cuntwell (typo intentional) tried to touch a foot in to initiate some contact and went down like we rammed a steel pipe up his arse
We got away with it because the ref had one call on it and it looked a pen at normal speed but the reverse camera angle showed that he tried buying it and no touch.

We got some luck but it was what we deserved.
