Nahh I would kindly disagree. You can see Sheehan has set this team up completely wrong. We go backwards in attacking areas and we are setting up like we are looking to draw every game.

He sets us up like a league two team traveling away to a premier league club in the cup.. except he's got multimillion pound duds signed by someone who's experience is betting on tennis algorithms and being a perennial internet troll

Well I can see us having a load of central midfielders and no one with creativity. One of them may find some but we haven’t really considered shape as far as I can see. If we really had, where’s the Key alternative? Were we planning on 3 at the back or 2. Full backs or wingbacks? Of were we thing this bloke is underpriced for his ability and we will make a good profit on him?

Parker? He has disappeared. He can't be any worse that Key. I'm I missing something did he go on loan? Honestly can't Remember

Absolutely right. I doubt it will happen, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't.

I was all for giving Sheehan a chance with the job on a permanent basis. I was also all for giving him time to bed in with the squad. We just haven't made the improvements that we should have and he often seems somewhat lost tactically.

Had a gander at a PNE forum, didn't scan every page, but saw quite a few opinions similar to these that I grabbed

- "Swansea must be gutted leaving empty handed"

-Well that was lucky…. Totally outplayed, need some players back asap.

- "reckon Swansea will feel hard done by there, the better team for the majority of the game."

- "Huge 3 points.
Swansea were the better team but those results are the signs of a good side.
Galbraith was unbelievable for them."

Similar to the comments from Charlton fans after the game on Saturday.

Now, we only got 1 point from those 2 games, but why is everyone so eager to look at the negative of everything? 2 tough away games against teams in the top 6 and we played well overall in both? Doesn't this give anyone any encouragement that we're not that far away from turning this around? Do we just want to blow this all up NOW and start again?

Agree we can’t keep sacking managers nobody wants us to become a basket case of a club but Sheehan shouldn’t have been appointed in the first place.

He absolutely should have been appointed, because we were on our arse when he took over, and we ended up only a handful of points outside the playoffs. He earned the job.

Whether he's the right man right now is clearly up for debate, as we've seen on here tonight, but that's a different story.

The fact you think he shouldn't have had it to begin with explains a lot.

Both are now up against it after what looked like encouraging starts at the club.
The longer things go on as they are, you can guarantee that the owners will be asking what the F is going on.

I would say Sheehan will be get at least 3 or 4 more games, unless they're all losses, but Gorringe was not going to do an interview and give anything other than praise for the current head coach. That would have been extremely unprofessional.

He also didn't say he was really his first choice and he had little option but to give it to him while they was looking for a manager. I have 0 doubt that they won't hesitate in getting rid. But at what point who knows.

One reason to keep Sheehan for a while longer is to make sure they get the right person. He is a good man who will not take us down. I worry about who would be picking the new manager and if Gorringe would need some support on that. I am sure behind the scenes the last 6 weeks will have started a search for options just incase and also that the January window can not be players who Sheehan is pushing if he will not be there to coach them. They do not need to rush into a new coach so will have time to do a proper search. I do not think many people think Sheehan is here for the long run at this point.

You're not wrong, but after Ipswich on Saturday we have 2 weeks with the break. As you say, the club has likely at least started making enquiries already.

Well I wouldn’t have chosen him but understood completely that they felt they had to do so.

I think he isn’t the answer - I always thought it odd that he was never blamed for being one of the coaches under managers that people thought to be utter crap.

But I think we are in danger of believing our players are better than they are. I think a better manager will get more out of them but really don’t think we have a squad that can really be challenging at this point. We will need a few more windows for that.

So it come down to whether I think we will go down under Sheehan and I don’t think we will. So I think we should avoid knee jerk reaction and plan properly to get the next one right. As we’ve not done that recently. Plus we can’t keep destroying our PSR on sacking management teams.

Having said that, as I said a few weeks ago, I don’t believe he will be here next season so I can see the argument that says why wait.

I’ll tell you what it explains….i always thought he was the wrong choice and by the look of things I’m right.
Should have had a big financial thank you for last season and then we should have gone after someone who was more experienced and capable of moulding a team instead of getting a bounce.

Weren’t Preston without a large number of their first choice tonight? I thought I’d read that this afternoon in the buildup stuff.

Does anyone have any idea as to why we’ve taken a man out midfield to accommodate an additional rookie CB when our defence was settled and pretty good already? I can understand it for Man C, but our weakness in the league hasn’t been at the back.

I would guess it was in part due to the following:

Key was struggling massively at right back so it gave more cover behind him.
Tymon is the only player who looks like delivering any quality crosses so it gets him higher up the pitch.
The wingers weren’t creating anything and the centre forward (Vipotnik/Idah) was very isolated in the previous formation - getting 2 players closer to them was an attempt to try and create through central areas.
Casey had played well in all his appearances to date.

Clearly results wise it hasn’t worked, but we actually got into far better positions in the final 3rd today than we have pretty much all season.

Who is to blame (manager/players/both) for the poor decision making/execution of the final ball is open to interpretation and will pretty much depend on who you think is responsible for us being 17th after 14 games.

Even if we lose on Saturday, I don't see them sacking Sheehan. We have 3 games after the international break and before the end of the month (Bristol City away, Derby home, West Brom away). If we don't win at least one, maybe two, of those then I think they'll pull the trigger.
