• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

This isn't going to be the walkover we expected last month. They're playing very well at the moment, and have a real rod up their back - fair enough. Beat Leeds in the cup last night, drew away at Wrexham at the weekend, and were unfortunate to not get a point away at Leicester on opening day.

They still have a very small squad full of young players, but this will absolutely not be our easiest game of the season.

Good effort on us selling out the away end allocation.
This is another thing that I can’t get my head around. We received 644 tickets originally from Wednesday. They sold out quite quickly. So we then received just 100 more tickets. Which have also sold out, I’m assuming. Now I know we didn’t take many there last year because it was mid week and we had also played Blackburn Rovers away on the Saturday before the match.

However, the match on Saturday is only our 2nd away match of the season, not as far as Boro and it’s just before the International break. So why in the world have we just been given or requested a grand total of 744 tickets so far in the upper tier? Stoke City requested the full 2,412. We didn’t need that many, but surely 400 more would have been a better idea, instead of just 100?

Sheffield Wednesday used to offer pay on the day for away fans, but their website currently states there is No Pay On The Day. I hope we have requested more tickets or we are going to have 744 fans in a stand that holds 3,700 (it used to be nearly 5,000 before they had health and safety issues). Not requesting enough tickets to satisfy demand is bonkers.

With their off field problems and a decimated squad we have to be looking at this as a game we are targeting for three points. Based on recent form the team we should be looking at:

-------------------------- Vigouroux ------------------------
Key ------ Cabango ----------------- Burgess ----- Tymon
-------------------------- Galbraith -------------------------
----------- Franco --------------------- Yalcouye ----------
Ronald --------------------------------------------- Inoussa
-------------------------- Vipotnik -------------------------

Tidy lineup but as it’s away and they seem to be playing well. I’d start Stamenic ahead of Yalcouye.
Would love to see Parker ahead of Key at this point as well. Think he just looks a better player atm.

How can we leave Stemenic out?.. him with Galbraith look the only 2 looking to create anything

There's a few outcomes here depending what best version of ourselves turn up.

They played well away at Leicester and Wrexham and held Leeds this week. They did get beaten by Stoke.

They will take heart and galvanise and make it difficult for us. Alternatively, 3 matches in a week with the same 14 is a big ask so there maybe some leggy wendies there.

We go with the right mindset, we have enough quality especially putting our Zombie friend on Bannan.

We need to create a lot more chances which is our achilles heel again and stop giving away set peice goals.

Be good to get to the international break unbeaten since Boro

Totally agree, they will be fighting for one another, and as you say have played well in all games to date, we will have to be prepared and set up for possibly another physical robust opposition

As other have said I’d be amazed if Stamenic doesn’t start in pretty much every away game (and most at home) from now on.

Wouldn’t be suprised to see Yalcouye start on the left with Inoussa on the bench (especially if Eom is out). I think it’s 50-50 Cullen will start too but I’d definitely go with your front 3 personally.

Maybe football is a curse? Why has it made me so negative. Its the 90th minute, 0-0 and Jamal Lowe Scores the winner. Oh dear I hope not 🤣🤣

Wouldn't see why Yalcouye would start on the left, he isn't a winger he is a central midfielder
If we start him on the left then it would beg the question why we spunked 5m+ on Inoussa in the first place

Sheehan definitely mentioned when he was signed that he was capable of playing out wide and when the 4 subs were made last night that’s where he went initially.

Not saying it’s what I’d do, but whether it’s still due to the pre season disruption or something else, I don’t think the manager feels Inoussa is ready to start league games (I hope I’m wrong and you’re right on Saturday).
