An odd game tactically.

Playing without a striker cost us in terms of creativity, but it didn't half make the press effective. WBA simply couldn't keep the ball long enough. Second half we subbed our way to a more conventional setup and it was like our half time drinks had been spiked with Mogadon. WBA went up several gears and it seemed like only a matter of time until we conceded.

Enter Jay Fulton. Goal aside he was excellent when he came on. Helped us to bully our way back into dominance.

Yalcouye probably our best player but nobody really played poorly. Key did well in the first half which will be a boost to his confidence hopefully. Pleased to hear the amount of support for him from around me in the East. People wanted him to do well.
I've been Keys biggest critic, but as per, give credit where its deserved. Still has a long way to make amends for his terrible defending and general play this season but did well under pressure of critics. Tactically we had everything in the first half other than a striker. It was a risk that Matos obviously felt was worth taking with keeping players fresh, we had a blip for about 10 minutes or so but credit to lads.

Reading one of their forums, throughout the gamne a constant comment was they were bad but so were we?
Clearly there fans are not as kind as Oxford and Coventry with there praise of our pressing then. We controlled that first half and yes they had chances but what match was they watching 😅

Vig

Galbraith, Cabango, Burgess, Tymon

Stamenic, Yalcouye, Widell

Wales, Vip, Eom

Sounds good to me 😉. Though I suspect based on today Ronald will get a start over Wales.
Ronald very rarely goes off with an injury
And it’s only three days to the next game
Wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the bench

For all the criticisms one may direct at Ronald feigning injury to get out of a game he doesn’t fancy is not one of them

Contrary to one or two comments on here, I thought the ref was very good. Set his stall out from the start with a yellow for the first foul on Yalcoure after a few minutes. Not many crap Championship refs would have done that. It's not his fault they rotated the foulers so as not to earn a red. Every yellow card was deserved.

He was spot on with the corner in the 94th minute too. Vig was stupid, pushing his luck when the ref was alive to any time wasting, to be as fair as possible to both teams. Just be thankful the old rule wasn't in place, or we'd have been facing an indirect free kick in the penalty area.

A word for Yalcoure, he was outstanding today, his class shone through. Hope we can keep him for the rest of the season.

Was it ever confirmed his antics of kicking the advertising board had an impact on his injuries? Genuine question. As I remember him doing it alot and people said it caused him issues. Myth or not?
Certainly don't think it helped him, can't understand why the manager didn't put a stop to it .

Vip looks shattered i can't see him starting Sunday same with Stamenic and Tymon aswell.

Yalcoue was excellent he deserves another start .

We would have done them 2 or 3 nil with a striker on in first half

I was there today and must have watched a different game to some on here.
Starting line up was a shambles, can’t go into a home game without a recognised striker on the pitch.

Agree totally with the comments regarding the effort levels but until we scored their keeper didn’t have a save to make, Vigroux on the other hand was our mom… let’s have a little perspective eh!!

Delighted with our recent results but apart from the closing down I don’t see a great improvement in our performances..,.uppa Swans👍

35-40 mins today will help with that
Expect him to start Sunday and get a rest in the cup

I would love to see a midfield 3 starting on Sunday of Stamenic, Yalcouye and Widell
Wales and Eom to start on the flanks with Vipotnik to lead the line
Wales' cameo when Ronald had to go off cemented that he should be the 4th winger ahead of Benson, but I think there's zero chance Matos will start him in a league game unless injuries/fitness force his hand. Possibly could see him start against WBA in the FA Cup though.

I agree with Pego. He booked players when he should and rightly gave us a couple of free kicks outside their area that gave us shooting chances. He was pretty consistent with the kind of challenges he chose not to give free kicks for and it looks like his only major clanger was to our benefit with the goal. I find it hard to think of a better performance from a ref at the .com this season.
