Galbraith nearly scored in first half, Cullen in the second half, Eom shanking a shot after a good run from memory
All mentioned were chances but how many did we create from open play? Were those chances something you would class as clear chances?
I am not overly concerned as the 3 points were the most important thing today and I do think confidence is low.

Were you at the game?
We had passages of play which created openings, we scored 2 goals from set pieces yes but how many times have folks moaned we dont do that. Stamenics goal came from a free kick resulting from a foul near to the Oxford box as we were attackimg them and had them under the cosh. Todays win and clean sheet will boost the confidence of a bunch of apparantly crap players according to forum sages ....despite only being on the ground for 12 days this inexperienced coach has already made improvement yes one swallow and all that but there are signs of positive change

I get what you’re saying, we’ve been poor at chance creation all season and we still aren’t great at it. However, I think we’ll improve on that looking at us today, we already looked more threatening.

It was forced on us today, but it solved the problem of how to play Galbraith, Franco and Widell in the same team. Widell was excellently promising: he allowed us to play through the middle as an option in a way we never can with Cullen. Didn’t create, but there’s a lot of potential there.

I do think we miss Galbraith in the middle, but I agree he also adds a lot from RB. Ideally we want two of him so one could play at right back! (Or we find ourselves a better right back; it’s not as if we haven’t needed another one since what seems like forever).
I thought Widell was off the pace today. Might have been after the knock he had but was a bit slow anticipating a couple of times. More match practice should sort it. He’s got something.

I was there Vetch. I think you misunderstood, I am not having a go at the coach and have said that 3 points was important including for confidence.
I was just asking how many chances we created of note from open play.

I would hope it will improve especially with confidence growing. I think the players will be encouraged to shoot more from listening to Matos after match interview.

As it happened, I thought Eom was much improved today and much livelier which was encouraging. I am not having a pop, I was just replying to Lisa with a question regards her opinion of playing Galbraith at RB in regards to not creating much with him playing in Midfield.
