Couldn't agree more re Franco.

He may have been a cult hero last season but I think we're already starting to outgrow him. Very good at winning the ball back, but on the ball he is too often really sloppy. I don't think our best midfield has him in it. Not long term anyway.
I've not totally written him off, but I feel he should be doing alot better at times. His pressing is very good and shows glimpses. I wouldn't say he is poor but his passing at times like Burgess is questionable.

Joined live stream at half time - saw score 0-1 - looked at stats - Wrexham 0 attempts 0 xg and its 1-0 - gutted

Thought we played well 2nd half and deserved the win.

Love the way the goal happened - just rubs it in for them

There is definitely a running theme in all of Matos's games so far where we are trying to shoot more. I like that, if only for the reason that he's clearly not beholden to some geek with a laptop somewhere telling him to tell his players not to shoot "from there" because they only have a 3.2% chance of scoring.

In fact it fills me with great joy that it appears we might have a coach on our hands who resembles a normal human being who is happy to work at least partly on vibes, and not some stats obsessed robot only concerned with winning possession battles. More please.
Seems at present Matos is able to tweek things and get Subs on early and it's making a difference. For whatever reason Sheehan decided to do the opposite.

I agree with Andrew. Franco the perfect player to bring on when you need energy. Ycouye needs to start for me

We've just been talking about the same.
Ok some of our players do look for a foul and go down easily but even though I want a bit for physicality in games, there is so much missed or not understood by the officials.
The leaving something on a player after the ball has gone is getting more and more into the games
I agree. Wrexham are very much 'put an elbow or a hand in the face the same time as challenging for the ball' kind of team. Moore did it to Cullen in midfield in the last few minutes, but it was happening regularly.

The Ronald one definitely wasn’t a penalty. One of the side on angles on Sky showed it perfectly. No contact until Ronald wrapped his leg deliberately. The Franco penalty claim was an absolute embarrassment.
I thought the Ronald one was in real time.
Ronald would have got a penalty if he hadn't initited contact, I thought he got himself into the perfect position and would have given the ref no choice but to award in hs favour, but his unatural move into the defender left the ref with no choice the other way.

We shouldn’t be writing anyone off. Most of the team is young and they all have potential to do better. They’ve had awful coaching for a long time, and we can already see a huge improvement as a team. Not everyone is going to have a good game all the time. But Franco gives absolutely everything for his shirt and he’s had some terrific performances. I think it’s a bit silly to be even mentioning writing him off.

Less of a stamp and more of a cheeky kick (flick of the boot into the back of Ronald's head if you are feeling generous). Not convinced he would have gotten away with that with VAR
Mclean has always been and still is a total pr$ck, but he must have really annoyed at Ronald's constant falling over.

Didn't watch the game in real time as I was out training my daughters u16 team, so not long finished watching the game.

Whilst Wrexham were not great, the result was great and we definately seem to be turning things around (long may it last). There is still a lot of work to do and some players won't make the grade in the way Matos wants to develop the team.

I would like to see Yalcouye alongside Stamenic (a rest for Franco may well re-invigerate him).

The transfer window is about to open and I would like to see a RB (I'm 100% done with Key), I also think RW (don't see Ronald as good enough, most due to the lack of opportunties he creates), We also need another CF as Cullen and Idah ust don't offer enough (I know Idah scored the winner but he lacks any oomph, his whole demeanor lacks energy and seems deviod of passion).

We can address the rest of the squad requirements in the summer.
