• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I agree with this (the needing a ball playing centre half part). What fans will have to accept though is that it’ll be someone at Darling’s level - who’s got some defensive deficiencies.

We’re very very unlikely to find someone of Ash’s calibre defensively and on the ball - it appears pretty much all centre halves in the Championship atm are one or the other.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but give me Darling over Burgess all day

The same questioning of every aspect of the club and doom-mongering happens after every loss. But we’re not that far away from where we need to be. We had the worst start to a season and we’ve pulled out of that tremendously under Matos. The fact that there was worries of relegation to hopes of promotion in such a short amount of time is remarkable.

It’s gutting to lose tonight, but it’s been a tough week and we won 2/3. This season wasn’t lost because of tonight, it was lost because we were so poor in the first half of the season. I’m very excited for next season because I don’t think we’re many players away from a competitive squad and I enjoy the way Matos is trying to make us play.
Top post. Me too. Sense of perspective needed.

Bright spot number three.. I don’t think VIP will be the target of any PL clubs, should have added at least two goals to his tally over the last two games.
The PL is a different kettle.. this is where serious people are, people who can fly a plane and land it.. the top 5 leagues in the world is where football competence resides, the other leagues they're not very serious, but get paid millions for not being good at their job.. what's that saying.. good work if you can get it

We can’t stick with this pairing if we want to achieve anything. One of the centre backs needs to be a ball player.

Darling is doing sod all, we could bring him back.

Not only a ball player.....someone who would challenge, first goal, my missis could have done better.

Widell will be a bit part player unfortunately.
When you have midfielders in Stamenic,Galbraith, Franco and our new scoring hope in Walta available.

Widell really needs to step up massively as a creative threat. Without that creative or goal threat then he's not doing anymore than the players I have mentioned.
It's too early to judge. I just hope Widell isn't another Ollie Cooper. He has shown glimpses of being a good player and I think needs much more time and patience. But if he isn't contributing to goals or scoring this time next year then questions to be asked.

Not particularly different to other games v top half teams we play away. We are the better team then we lose.

Burgess needs to go at end of season. There's no improvement there to be had now.

Vipotnik, is not immune from criticism, I do not know why he hesitated with his chance.

Very annoying game. Watching that, I genuinely believe we are the better football team. But we couldn't get the 3 points.

I disagree, Matos is utlising the squad at his disposal and is doing what he should playing the players he thinks can do a the job required in the moment.

He will play them when he thinks the time is right. It's more worrying for Widdell (I think Walta is being introduced bit by bit) who seems to lack a definitve role in the current set up.

What will be interesting is what happens in the summer, who comes and goes and how tthe squad make up looks at that point.
Hes not being introduced bit by bit anymore though. He was before the Preston game but after that Matos has lost all faith in him.

Oh god, I think you’ve awoken a thought I’ve tried to keep hidden in the depths of my mind: that Widdel is just a Swedish Ollie Cooper😆💀

We’ll see how he develops. I’ve not got to that stage yet. He’s shown some good moments and I like his enthusiasm and energy. He’ll need to do better next season though (he’s not the only one of course)

It's only the deluded fans who think that was the case anyway to be honest.
