• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I love to read the matchday thread after a loss, the overreactions are always stunning, not to mention the League Two enthusiasts who climb out of the shadows that can’t let go of our great club 😂

We had just won two games in a row and won 5 of our last 8 going into this game. Do we honestly expect to win every game, home and away?

We lost, it happens. We are 8 points better off than we were at this stage of the season last year.

Bright spot number three.. I don’t think VIP will be the target of any PL clubs, should have added at least two goals to his tally over the last two games.
We need VIP to score a few goals to keep his stock high and cash in on him in the summer.

I still have the sense that he’s just had a very good season which won’t be replicated.

And I’m not convinced he’s the sort of striker that actually suits matos and his system.

I’m with you on this.

I take your point that we can't win every game. I think it was just the way we lost. So frustrating. To spurn two gilt edged chances early on and play well for 25-30 minutes, then descend into clueless football where we could hardly create a chance. There was so much anticipation that we would be competitive too, and in the second half we weren't. I think Wrexham were there for the taking, they really are not that good, despite league position.

They are about the same as us in my view, they spent 40 million and didn't lose anyone of note from their promotion team last season so they have the squad cohesion we benefited from on the way up way back when.

Since Matos took over 21 games ago, we are 8th and Wrexham are 7th, both teams having the same amount of points in that timeframe.

The league structure next season rewards the top 8 and we have shown that top 8 is around our level under Matos and I have no doubt we continue to improve in the summer as it’s clear where the club need to invest.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but give me Darling over Burgess all day
Couldn’t agree more. Ipswich knew exactly what they were doing when they let him go. He’s a very one dimensional “stopper” of a centre half. The way he went in with his wrong foot for their first goal summed him up.
We were miles better than them first half, and should have been 2 up, playing some lovely football.
2nd half not so. What is that all about?
The subs seemed to make us worse, but Hollywood had basically 2 efforts on goal and scored, so the earlier 70% possession stats doesn’t win you games.

Wrexhams first goal was a series of Burgess errors from giving the ball away, positional and 2 poor attempts to stop Broadhead lining up his shot. Couple that with his slow and inaccurate passing and letting the ball bounce when he should just clear it invites all his criticism

I don’t disagree with this…but…and it’s a huge but…we have no evidence that anyone currently in the squad (individually or collectively) would get anywhere near replacing those goals (see also the 2 years after Piroe left)

Idah may come good, as well as some of this seasons signings but it’s always a big gamble selling a 20 goal striker at this level. In saying that I’ve no doubt we’d accept an offer of £12-15m

You really are a sad act. What next, my dad can fight your dad?
Like all flat track bullies, you don't like being called out or stood up to.
Anyway, moron, I've got better things to do than trade insults with you. Have a nice day.
Have a shit day, old man 👍😂

Best bet in football - a high energy counter pressing team on the road in the third game of a 3 game week.
We ran out of steam, and nobody should be surprised.
