So we have to play Stoke without Bennett, when we have just conceded almost 30% of our season goals since he got injured. (6 )

How long is he out for? That's a major problem. My Confidence Index has just crashed šŸ¤£

Im not sure. Naughtons back though. Maybe I'm being naive but someone with a little experience there may help. I called it on Saturday before th game started. You cant play kids in defence without supervision. (Especially not the entire centre of defence AND Gk )

Back three, excluding Guehi's slip, were excellent on Saturday.
No worries about Bennett being out more concerned about Grimes and Hourihane in.

Apart from all the goals we haven't missed Bennet at all(clearly just a coincidence that we conceded a third of a seasons worth of goals in his absence) and it isnt as if goals are important in football matches.

Freddie Woodman also had a great game vs Bristol apart from all his cock ups and and terrible play.

Wednesday's Ref Is David Webb

David Webb will take charge of the Swans on Wednesday night for the second time this season - the other being the 0-0 draw against Reading at the Liberty at the end of December.

In 21 previous Championship appearances this season he has produced 55 yellow cards and 5 reds - his red card tally being the joint highest of any Championship referee, while his 4 straight reds is the highest.

After taking up the whistle aged 20, David Webb became an EFL Referee in 2008 following various spells in the Northern League and the National League.

David has taken charge of over 300 matches in professional football, and joined the Select Group 2 list last season.

Webb represented PGMOL at the Dallas Cup in 2009 and as part of the exchange programme to Australia in 2018, and also refereed the League Two Play-Off Final between Coventry City and Exeter City in 2018.

Webb was criticised by Steve Cooper last December after booking George Byers for simulation against Luton and was convinced a penalty should have been awarded "We've seen the decision on the penalty back," he said at the time.

"Not only is it an absolutely stonewall penalty, but George gets a booking.

"With him being a midfield player he can quite easily pick up yellow cards and get a suspension down the line when he shouldn't, so I'm disappointed to be fair."

Webb will be assisted by Ian Cooper and Daniel Leach whilst Marc Edwards is the fourth official.

MATT GRIMES | IT'S AN OPPORTUNITY TO BOUNCE BACK

Source: Swansea City Official Site

Matt Grimes has challenged Swansea City to provide another reminder of their character and mentality when they take on Stoke City on Wednesday night (8.15pm).

The Swans suffered their first home league defeat since October last weekend as Bristol City won 3-1 in SA1.

Grimes and co now head to the bet365 Stadium on Wednesday hoping to put that defeat behind them and claim a first victory in the Potteries since 2001.

This season, Steve Cooperā€™s side are yet to taste consecutive defeats, and Grimes feels that underlines the determination within the squad to react positively to a defeat.

ā€œI think it's testament to the character and mentality of the team that we always bounce back from a loss. Hopefully, we can do that again on Wednesday,ā€ said Grimes.

ā€œObviously, we're still in a very good position. We're having a very good season and we'll look to bounce back. It is a tough place to go - everyone knows that - but we'll do our preparation, get our recovery done and be ready to go again.

ā€œWe know that we let ourselves down on Saturday. I don't think we played badly, but conceded three very sloppy goals and lost the game. It can happen, but we need to dust ourselves down and go again.ā€

With his red card record, it's a pity he wasn't the ref against Bristol City.

Unfortunately he can also send our players off.

Why have so many people predicted a Stoke win! I feel everyone is being a little too reactive. We're a good side.

They are decimated with injuries and in really poor form. I think this is a game we'll win comfortably 2-0.

They are well organised enough, but without Fletcher they really don't have a focal point. By all accounts Vokes has had a poor year - so much so that with no forward option in the last two games they went to start with Nick Powell. Mclean + Clucas also out. This is a real opportunity and I think we'll take it.

If the bookies have it right, then we'll be a point behind Brentford with 2 games in hand by 9.30 tomorrow! Keep the faith!

Must admit I was quite surprised at the current results of the poll
