SWANSEA CITY v BRENTFORD
The EFL Championship Play Off Final
Wembley Stadium, London
Saturday 29 May 2021, 3pm Kick Off

This is it - the richest game in football and both Swansea City and Brentford are one game away from the Premier League.

Both sides have been in the fixture before, we have won it, Brentford haven't. They finished 3rd, we finished 4th. They beat us in the play offs last year, we beat them in the play offs in 2006. Both games this season were draws.

Anything can happen but for the victors it will be the riches of the Premier League, for the losers another season in the Championship.

Let's do this - THIS IS OUR DAY.

Swans can do it, a good attack against a good defence.

Birch has apparently said on Radio Wales tonight that each club will get just 3K fans each the remainder will be for corporate press EFL etc

I've heard 4k, whichever it's a fucking joke.

Shocking about the ticket allocation, but its still better than no fans at all. I've no doubts that ours can outsing the Brentford fans any day of the week.

Time for some revenge after last season.

There should be no corporate this season, f*ck em and give each team an equal share of the ticket allocation

Sadly I suspect its contractual obligations of both the EFL and Wembley, football in the 21st century

What’s our record at the ‘new’ Wembley?
2 final wins and a draw against Spurs?

Play some proper football and we'll be ok👍

We have a chance but didn't see much 'proper football' last night.

We used to be able to play ourselves neatly and confidently out of trouble but the first instinct now is to always hoof the ball forward.

This will only invite more pressure and we can't afford to defend for 90 minutes.

Just hope we give it a real go rather than sit back.

Equally Barnsley are very fit, and a very high pressing side so playing out of the back isn’t really an option under those circumstances when you don’t have a side of high skill passing players.

I think Cooper has got a lot of the tactics spot on this season, and played it tactically correctly those who dislike the fact he doesn’t play tikataka like teams of the past, need to recognise that with the players at his disposal he has got us within one game of the PL.

We have shown on occasions that we can still play that style but would probably end up mid table as with Potter.

We was written off at one point in making the playoffs, we were pitched as the weakest of the 4 playoff sides by some margin, we were underdogs to turn Barnsley over across 2 games. Staying under the radar suits us fine and we will push them to the limit of their arrogance on Saturday.

Assuming Routs is out who would you bring in? Whittaker? Cullen? Neither have done a whole lot to merit a start.

Finally, (see what I did there?) there's something that Brentford and Swansea supporters agree on. Neither of us wants Keith Stroud to be the referee.

But Phil should be aware of this :D
