Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 3 QPR 0 | The EFL Championship

That’s as complete a first half performance since the famous WBA game, and Williams’ best half to date. Would like to see the first half possession stats, it must be at least 75% in our favour.

Don’t read anything into the second half, the difference in intensity was noticeable and I can understand this to a point, although I would have welcomed a fourth, just for comfort,

I am convinced this squad is better than mid table, we’ve got to sort this issue of under performing against the top six or seven. Losing every match is as much a tactics and mentality issue as it is player skill.
And that's the thing.

We have a richly assembled squad (top quartile spend$ last term, our RECORD SPEND in this league). Top 6 latency.

The limiting factor has to be the rookie manager with no heritage, no pedigree, no class, no contacts - with a penchant for doing a Martin, in lots of ways counter-cultural to the Swanseaway and our fans.

Good performance, 3 points and a clean sheet.

Job done at half time so took it a bit easy 2nd half. We could have had a few more 2nd half if we had a bit more quality.

Well I think I'm in a weird parallel universe.
Intensity from the off. Snuffing out the opposition completely. Players (Cullen, Franco, Key) playing between the opposition lines and being found by precise forward passes. Clinical in front of goal and Franco lasting 85 minutes.

Have I been abducted by aliens?

Fun stat of the day. The last time that QPR won away on Boxing Day was almost 60 years ago in 1967 (0-1 at Plymouth). They're beginning to get a complex about it.

Should we all make peace that Key has effectively taken over Grimes role in midfield? Key was everywhere today driving us forward where Grimes seems happy to just sit back and play nice sideways triangles.

When Grimes does get forward he can find that killer pass similar to Franco..even Tymon was drifting centrally second half.

Good to see Vip get some decent service at last.

There’s more to it than just saying top six spend demands top six league placing; we haven’t spent it entirely well.

However, I’m sure we are capable of a higher level of consistency and some of the inconsistency is down to tactics.

The analysts have to be all over that first half today and translate the strengths into the next game.

You're right Daps - more quality in the dugout and we'd be flying high, leveraging our richly assembled squad and optimizing our performances and results.

After all, it's a results driven business and if I was a new new owner I'd be Massively disappointed with how our manager is underachieving, from so many perspectives.

Without doubt, your Willy is our weakest, floppiest thing. As per, time immemorial, Daps.

How can i put this guy on ignore ? he's doin my swede in.

First half was outstanding and is now the benchmark.
All 11 players were involved, gave everything and looked a proper team.
Liked Bianchini up front, Franco and Cullen were finding great spaces and key to everything we did well. Loved the through balls we played to Bianchini and then Vipotnik. Great response boys

Top tip - you need to raise your bar, and keep up.
Learning and development - is the only way, truly.
Listening, learning and responding in an adult, thoughtful way - it's the only way, the way of the world.
