Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 3 QPR 0 | The EFL Championship

Our team is absolutely bonkers.

Against Hull, probably in the top 5-10 worst performances since relegation.

Now this, probably in the top 5-10 best halves of football since relegation.

I'm done with trying to work this team out. You just can't. It's pointless.
We got a relatively small squad with more than a few limited players so I suppose it becomes understandable when we have performances like the one at Hull.

Our first 11 today are probably just that our first 11, Bianchini still got some we way to go granted, but the other 10 who started today are probably our strongest.

We spent a few bob. We just didn’t spend it as well as we could have.
Quite. Tymon and Ronald are the only two left who we spent money on from last year. We spent a bit for us, wasted more than we invested and now only a fraction to show for it. So certainly not an expensively assembled squad. About £3m between them two. Last year was awful recruitment in the main.

It’s not a richly assembled squad at all, not compared to what we’ve lost year after year. Plus a lot of last season’s spend is irrelevant, as we shipped out 2 of our 3 most expensive signings (Yates and Kukharevych). We’re a mid-table team, playing mid-table football, managed by a mid-table manager. We’ll have good days like today and bad days like the previous two. There’s not enough quality to seriously threaten promotion whoever the manager is imo.
Absolutely this 100%

It might help if we, um, you know, picked it more often.

Anyway, just saw the goals. Tidy. Nice forward balls to players actually making runs…amazing that it might work. Who could have possibly known. Also saw Placheta’s goal for Oxford. Have you all seen it? I go to the foot of our stairs.

I’ll enjoy the unlimited drink we have here tonight.

What the heck do you mean by that, re 'lost year after year' ?
You make no sense, mun.
The facts is the facts.

We absolutely have a Top 6 contending squad, with Matty, Franco, Darling, Viggy and Cullen at the core of our spine - with riches of talent to draw in from our width, our youth and our overflowing pipeline.

Why do you chose to be so utterly negative about our reality ? Think, before you respond.......

The players we’ve lost each season. It’s not hard. We’ve lost quality players and replaced with lower quality players almost every year since we came down. We could go through every position on the pitch if you like, but you’re such a genius I’m sure you can work it out 🤣

I believe we have a team that is top 6 quality but then again there about 14 teams that are top 6 quality if that makes sense.

We turned up today and the players deserve the plaudits for playing the game as it should be. I'm happy I got the score right and Ben got on the pitch. I think that he is going to make a difference when he gets more time on the pitch with his pace and ability. He is young but I think he is ready.

I can see that Grimes had a good game today but still made some schoolboy decisions and passes. I especially liked the pass that Franco made for the second goal that should have been made by our captain and I believe if Grimes wasn't captain he would be making more of those.

Fantastic result though and again, well done to all the players on the pitch.

Can't see a top six side with the current squad.

We can barely muster a ninety minute performance together. We were outstanding in parts during the first half and reverted back to normal when we came out for the second half.

Not sure what Williams said to them at half time. Less of the same lads, maybe?

Bit harsh I think; we eased off second half, but didn't capitulate as we so often do; we remained in control of the game. Vig still didn't have a save to make.

Why are we easing off in the second half? Again we have to question the mentality of this team, we're three nil up with 45 minutes to go and we take our foot off the pedal.

They score early on and it's a different game.

A win is a win, and I'm happy with that, we're not a top six side though.

You 'simply' cannot think in that way, it's so....limited and defeatist in thinking, no ?

Get with the current Programme, mwsh, mun.

No matter how how often you would drive past some of our heroes back in the day in south Gower, your plot seems lost. You've now lost the connection, in the most shallow of ways.

Wake up in South Gower, stop with the bleating. Aready.
You're better than that, as we know.

outside of the top 3 I think there are 11 teams who are so inconsistent that they are all top 6 candidates. Why we take our foot of the gas, as seen so many times this season, has to be a coaching and motivating issue.

It is baffling.

Hard to criticise the lads after winning three nil at home, that second half though 😬

The worst part of South Gower is it in inhabited by the rudest captain this club has had.

I know people can fall out with each other, but half of this thread is taken up by two people constantly insulting each other. Tiresome is an understatement. It's like two children arguing in school constantly, while the rest of us try to sensibly discuss the day's events. 🙄
