Yes Grimes is doing grimes things, but when we get passed him it doesnt excuse the complete lack of support Cooper offers in arguably one of the most important positions in our setup. Absolute piss take

That was a poor half. West Brom are a decent side but we had no vision and the width was rubbish. Can't complain about being 1 behind but it happened at such a bad time. Grimes was asleep and it is hard to believe that Cooper is actually on the pitch he has been that invisible.
Williams needs to change the play through midfield - I would be looking to put tight balls on the three Baggies lads who are yellows and see them get booked again as I think this is the only hope from this game.

LW is gonna be at serious risk of losing any of his goodwill from the fans if he keeps up with this obsession of Grimes dropping in as a 3rd centre half. As I said earlier he is meant to be the midfield pivot and the out ball to show for our defenders and full backs when they are being pressed.

His job is then to move it on to Franco, Ronald, Eom, Cooper or Vipotnik so that we can get up the pitch and have a proper effective press. When he drops into centre half there is no pivot and any ball to the top four players of the pitch is basically a 30-40 yard long punt against a very tall and aerially dominant West Brom defence.

End result is that WBA always have an easy out ball

Id forget the press on keeper & CB it offers nothing and leaves us short when they (very easily) play through us. Do the same as them and stand off

To press you either press as a team or not at all. Just one player running around pressing will cause a mistake / win possession maybe once in a thousand times.
