Regards the RB situation, Matos said that Ward was brought in to be back up to Key BUT yet neither started at RB. Tells you everything really.
Ward looks miles better than Key and for me would be ahead of him for selection (as the past 2 games have shown). Once he is fully match fit then Galbraith can go back in midfield or have a rest.

Ward has been with us for just over a week and Vitor is building his fitness up from the subs bench. Who's to say Ward will start v Blackburn,

He isn’t the best in either position.

The last few games he hasn’t been the best midfielder in our team when he’s played there let alone the division.

The last three or four games he’s actually not played very well.

But now everyone has decided he’s the best ever, no one is honest about it.

He keeps straying way out of position at right back leaving us open on that flank and when he’s come into midfield towards the end of games we’ve looked more cluttered and less free in our midfield play as he’s trying to do too much. And his set piece delivery hasn’t been great. Yesterday a few of his free kicks were poor.

We became noticeably less strong in midfield yesterday when he moved across, effectively replacing Franco.

He’s a very technically talented player with a lot of promise but as someone else pointed out he probably needs a rest.
Ok, I've changed my mind now 👍

No point in bringing a RB in and blocking Lissah. We look better with Ethan at RB
100% agree.

I have watched a few of the highlights of Lissah playing and he genuinely looks exceptionally promising.

I had no idea he had such a turn of pace. That assist yesterday he really was quick.

This is EG's first seasin in the championship and is currently ranked 4th in minutes played, behind our two CBs and Tymon (by a small margin). I couldn’t find stats on distance covered, but it’s a no-brainer that our full-backs cover far more ground than our centre-backs.
I’m sure we have a good medical team, but as I wrote in the original post, he looks overplayed. You can see it in his decision-making, his shooting, his runs, and even his face.

VM has his considerations, but again, it really looks like he needs a rest.

One other thought after yesterday's game. Why the f**k are we still announcing attendances over the tannoy. I know it was on Sky TV but still a poor crowd despite a full away end. Just invites derision from them...plus also those watching on TV across the country. " Thank you Jack Army for your MAGNIFICENT support". FFS

Yes that was cringeworthy... you could just tell the Brum fans were going to pipe up at that point

Think it's more about getting match fitness into Ward. I think give it a few weeks and we'll see Galbraith put into midfield and Key and Ward will share duties at right back.

Have to remember it's not a reflection on the owners benevolence, it's the FFP limitations. We need to generate more income to raise the ceiling a la Wrexham, who are able to spend more without breaching FFP
That's a fair point when we are looking for extra quality in the summer. That costs. Makes you think how do we break through to the "next step" (Mark II). Looking back we had such players as Leon, Joey, Ash, Angel (and other Spanish imports), Ben Davies, Trundle, Dan James, Ollie McBurnie, Michu and whoever else - no significant outlay or Academy. And selling on for millions in some cases.

What is our financial and recruitment strategy ? I'm not sure tbh, Vitor can only take us so far with press and passion and a going forward culture. We're crying out for final third quality - goals and wide play.

Imagine the fall out on here by the usual experts if he is rested for two games. I can see it now “Matos doesn’t know what he’s doing, too inexperienced for this league” 🤣

He was sub when we played WBA home in the league? He came on after Key got injured at half time.
It's happened

Managers look at weeks like this one as blocks of three matches. It’s why the successful teams have bigger and better squads and rise up the table during the grind of the Championship.
We’ll see rotation without doubt. It’s Matos’ problem how to do it most effectively.

100%

If Ward is going to start I’d be tempted to do it away to Hull though and play a more natural fullback away from home.

Stamenic for Fulton may well be the only change on Tuesday, with 3/4 rotated next Saturday - depending on the result and performance in midweek.
