When does a storm become a hurricane?

A storm becomes a hurricane when sustained winds reach a minimum of 74 miles per hour

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60417263

The Met Office warned Storm Eunice could bring gusts of up to 90mph, causing significant disruption.

It's going to be no joke out there. Stay safe folks.

Funny how what used to be called a windy day has to have a name attached to it these days

I've been off on annual leave and the weather has been incredible!
Amazing anmounts of rain Tues and Wednesday.
Today was calm and bright in Pennard ,then as I was walking towards 3 cliffs bay the heavens opened only to be followed by sunshine!
I even sat outside the Portobello Inn in Burry Port as it was pleasant.....the £2.50 a pint helps as well!!
Supermarkets were beginning to get busy just after 1pm
Take care and drive safely and sensibly.

Tomorrow is going to be no joke... my house backs onto Mayals Rd and has 5 giant pine trees in the back garden... bricking it at the thought of one of those coming down.

Be careful if you are a dog walker tomorrow.
Stay away from trees. It's become a horrible familiar headline that a tree collapses on someone in these spells of poor weather ☹️

Are they owned by residents or council?

Burry Port is like another world to what I remember it once being, Dicky. Very pleasant spot when the weather is good.

Cracking little cafe further down towards the harbour aswell

Postal deliveries in Swansea cancelled too
School closed, Council offices closed to the public, trains cancelled etc. I hope it's not as bad as they say.🤞

And still you will get some people in Porthcawl and near Mumbles Head in search of the perfect photo

Senior management are expecting us to go and work in peoples houses, instead of calling a force majeure, they'll be fine though tucked up in their comfy bedsits.
