Summer Transfer Window

Some nonsense from a Derby site on FB that Yates is off to Pompey for. £3.4 million. Where are my car keys?
Not TOO outlandish a fee for a 28 year old striker who:

* had 10 goals and 4 assists for a pretty dire Derby team last season
* had 9 goals and 1 assist for us with two managers who had no clue how to use him in the 23/24 season
* had 15 goals and 6 assists for a Blackpool side that got relegated in the 22/23 season
* had 8 goals and 3 assists in the 21/22 season
* had a very impressive 23 goals and 9 assists (admittedly in League 1) in the 20/21 season

There will be plenty of sides who fancy they could get a 20 goal season tune out of him

Has Yates just got one year left with us?
Yes, couldn't find any mention of an extension option otherwise could probably demand 5-6m for him
A decent but not spectacular striker who with the correct players around him is almost guaranteed to net you double figures for the season

Could we get £2M for him?

A poster above reckons Portsmouth have put in a bid of 3.4m for him
With his track record over the past five years thats not a bad price for them or us for a 28 year old striker approaching the final year of his contract

Yates signed a three year contract with the Swans plus a one year option.
