Summer Transfer Window

I don't see why a player should give up 12 months early the last big contract he's going to get, however good or bad a player he is.Club mistake not his
Expensive highly experienced bench player is what we've got here
Just another mistake over his ( Cooper ) contract ,like so many other mistakes we've made
Yates being a recent one but so many others Kuha Pedersen TJ etc
Fulton has been an excellent club man
Every club needs a few
He's more like Naughton, Allen, an experienced presence around the place
We live with it, and hope he plays well under Sheehan

My final-ish say on the matter with Fulton. Yes wages are 1 issue, but for me he is not a squad player anymore. And doesn't bring anything to the team. I can give you a hundred other reasons why he should go but he is the last of the old guard. A player who does not fit into where we are going and trying to achieve.
Not being funny but you can give as many reasons as you like he has a contract for another 12 months.
And can just sit it out which is what I think will happen.
Unless we give him a free transfer and pay half his wage.

It wouldn't worry me going into the season with the forward options that we have.

Vipotnik, Yates and Cullen are all capable of getting into double figures with adequate service, and perhaps Wales is too. With a more attacking style of play the likes of Eom, Widell, Inoussa, Galbraith and Ronald can also get between 5-10 each. Chuck in another 5-10 goals from the rest of the squad (Tymon, Burgess etc) and then that is more than enough to get us top six. Realistically we only need one or two players managing to get into double figures as long as those others chip in.

Leeds were the only free scoring team in the division last season. Nobody else got even close to them. Burnley had just two players get into double figures. Sunderland's top scorer managed 13 with nobody else getting into double figures. Sheff Utd had two players in double figures, with a top scorer on 11. Coventry just one player in double figures, scoring 12. By contrast, Norwich had the second top goalscorer after Piroe and finished lower than we did.

It is an absolute myth that we need a 20 goal striker to achieve promotion. Style of play and creating an environment where as many different players as possible get into scoring positions is much more useful.

Aye so none of you know what he’s on, but are all stating his massive wages as if you do. It’s a nonsense.

Look, I don’t particularly care if he stays or goes, he’s a decent enough squad player, who would need to be replaced by another decent squad player.

People want to trade him for someone but we don’t know if that someone will even be as decent as he is. And an absolute favourite saying of our fans when they talk about bringing an ex player back is “he knows the club so would fit straight in”.
"People want to trade him for someone but we don’t know if that someone will even be as decent as he is".

If we get a player in who isn't even of the standard of Fulton, then the whole world's gone crazy! What a totally idiotic statement. 🙄

Its convenient that the only way to "have your attention" would be by breaking the law.
The only person who could legally post his wage slip without repercussions would be Fulton himself
Brilliant response to what was an idiotic comment. Far too many shallow thinkers on this site.

Naighton was an astoundingly fit and knowledgeable player until the end. Fulton couldn't hold a candle to him.

Fair enough point about the 20 goal striker I guess - it never guarantees anything. But I'd still rather have someone up top who knows where the net is and can sniff out chances.

Because your concept that the rest can chip in with "5-10 each" is fanciful to say the least. That simply doesn't happen in reality. The reality is only a small handful have done that for us going back several seasons. After that it's mostly binary code for the rest of the squad. See below.

Seasons where we've enjoyed the thrill a minute styles of Cooper, Martin, Duff and Williams?

Eom should have at least five in him in a team that actually attacks. Likewise Widell.
Midfield players can't score many passing the ball laterally on the half way line.

Every player signed is a risk, if you don’t understand that, that’s on you. Idiotic be fucked.
