Summer Transfer Window

I wouldn't rule out the Ronald rumours a few weeks back.

We have Galbraith who covers right back
And Widell who can cover the wing.

GK Viguroux/Fisher
RB Key/Galbraith
LB Tymon
CB Cabango/Burgess/Santos

MF O'Brien/Franco/Fulton

AM Cullen/Cooper

WINGERS Inoussa/Eom/Ronald/Widell

ST Vipotnik/Yates/Wales

Unless they could be looking at things differently.
I very much expect Eom and Widell to be operating in CAM
That still leaves Ronald/Bianchini/Parker/Congreve who can play on the right and Inoussa/Ginnelly/Govea who can play on the left

I expect at least one if not both of Parker and Govea to go out on loan this season though

I am not suggesting that Widell or Galbraith will play Wing and RB primarily, I fully expect them to be central midfielders but they may be used on a squad sheet at RB and CM(As back ups).

Seen this on reddit just now. Probably bullshit but this guy was right about williams being hired* before it broke so who knows.

Edit: to hired not sacked
Not a chance imo. As it stands, the money he would cost would be better spent elsewhere. This only makes sense if Franco is gone and would much rather keep him. It would be very funny to nab him given how hard Wrexham seem to going after him though.

I'll be amazed (happily so) if Ginnelly is ever in a position health-wise, to do a job for us

Would LOB take around a £20k per week pay cut to join us?.. I would imagine he would be looking for higher wage and a 3 year contract which the likes of Wrexham might break to bank for. Although from a footy style and facilities LOB probably wouldn't fancy it.

Rather keep Franco and sign McBurnie.

All I do know is that he did one on one conditioning coaching at the same place as Pato to optimise his fitness and that he has been heavily involved in pre season so far. There is a chance we might get to see the player we signed

O'Brien would undoubtedly be a fantastic signing in terms of what he offers on the pitch, but I worry that we're spending a considerable majority of our remaining funds on a player that, amazingly, we might not actually need?

As posters above have mentioned, we presumably have a midfield of Franco/Widell/Galbraith for next season, and although we need depth, which of those three do we drop for LOB? Just doesn't seem worthwhile imo, even as a fantastic player at this level

I'm surprised that O'Brien hasn't gone anywhere yet.
But I'd be hesitant on spending that sort of money on him, when we need to address other areas on the pitch as well.

I'm aware a few posters see Vip, Cullen and Wales and possibly even Yates as enough to cover a striker position. For me a physical target man who can press, hold the ball up and convert crosses is a must. Not sure any of the above ticks those boxes.

One of our problems in the last couple of seasons has been that as soon as we subbed a midfield player, our performance always seemed to go down the toilet because the only options we had to bring on were nowhere near the quality we needed to maintain our performance level. This was most notable under LW because he seemed to be of the opinion that Franco couldn't play more than 60 minutes and while this may have been true early on as he adapted to the pace and physicality of the Championship compared with what he was used to in Portugal, LW persisted with it long after most observers thought it was necessary. Maybe Sheehan wants a top midfielder on the bench every game so this will never happen again. There are also injuries and burnout to consider plus it would also add to competition for places as nobody would be guaranteed a start. We already have that in wide positions.
