Gorringe claimed at the forum last week that the club have saved a couple of mil in operations costs; no idea how.

Selling Yates, and offloading the salaries of Pedersen, Darling, and Grimes will also give us a couple of mil extra.
They shut off the supply of Joes ice cream apparently

Agree we have spent a good wedge, but we also got 4.5m for Grimes in January that was not really invested until now. That can offset against 1/2 of the signings made alone. Spreading deals over a long period will also help, as well as ultimately selling a star man or two down the line.

The only issue is if the majority of players bought end up being poor at this level, then it means no takers and a significant drop in transfer activity in windows to come as we continue to pay off fees without offloading anyone. Fingers crossed eh
I wouldn't consider Widell, Inoussa, Eom, Galbraith, Ronald, Tymon, Key, Stamenic, Casey et al as being poor at this level. In fact I'd go on to say that if a coach can't get a tune out of that lot, then he isn't a coach.

100% agree. Was purely pointing out that if for some reason or another they turn out poor (ACL injury, don't step upt etc.) then we would see a quiet few windows after that.

But I am in the same frame of mind as you, I think its great business and think most of them will thrive.

Has anyone actually got any reliable information or source that a striker is imminent?

It feels like, that if/when it happens that it's likely to be a name not on anyone's radar?

I keep on updating on here every 5 mins hoping for some news... but no real whispers apart from the article this morning saying that a deal is supposedly close - but no real evidence to back it up or where that news has come from.

Not to doubt that Phil is probably more in the know than most. Just really hope something happens soon.

Final piece of the jigsaw 🤞

Vital Swansea said he’s not hearing anything about a striker being close at the moment and he’s spot on usually. Wouldn’t mind him being wrong on this occasion though
