SwansTV matchday coverage

Yeah it was. I imagine coverage on Tuesday will be fine as well, it's the Home game on Saturday which is the issue. I was able to get some feedback from Swansea support this week. This is a small snipet:

As a club we are liaising directly with the audio provider on this matter to work towards the quickest possible resolution.

If I'm honest I expect the audio to be out of sync next Saturday. Let's hope and pray it doesn't. On side note. Of-com doesn't deal with online services other than BBC etc, I have looked into this too. Not giving up on this one only until it's fixed. 😊
I agree. Away games have never been an issue for me - and it would support your theory that at home games AOC is watching the play in real time i.e. sitting in the stand looking at the pitch, whereas for away games he's commentating off-tube (I think that's the term).

Well done for sticking with this. We deserve better.

And when they've fixed this issue we need to get them to send AOC to away games so that we can have a bit more "atmosphere" from him.

In other AOC news: he never fails to disappoint. Yesterday it was
"Swansea's first corner" - goal kick to Blackburn.
Free kick to Blackburn, not Franco's foul but he was booked for kicking the ball away - AOC couldn't see why he was booked. "No real involvement worthy of a yellow card"!
Totally missed Beck's yellow card - he did announce it about 10mins later though, so well done him.

Haha. Yeah I noticed the corner and foul mistake. Snap. It's odd, sometimes he is upbeat other times and we'll most of the time it feels like he is being forced into watching lol. What I did find strange was he made a few comments about Ronald and talking to the lines man when the footage was showing other areas of the field. I'm still convinced he is watching same stream as us and not there, but wonder if he gets other feedback? Either way, I'll be happy with the audio fix on home matches first then delve into the other issues. I 100% agree with home games. Clearly watching live and not monitors and it's causing this. I really do hope something comes of it, I won't hold my breath. But will keep trying.

He does supposed to be commentating via monitors… he sits at the top of the West stand at home and away games with his mic in front of a monitor.

He sees exactly what everyone else sees.

I wonder if he chooses not to watch the monitor for home games tho

Oh right. That's interesting. I did always wonder with away games. So it's clear then he is there in person? Not sure if this makes it even more confusing now to why there is a delay. It's just really odd. This makes sense in relation to him making comments off screen on Saturday, but makes 0 sense then with home games. As you would think he would follow the same process, even if he looks up at the game. Jesus, this doesn't give me much confidence now lol. But it's good to hear feedback as helps us get to the root

I don't believe he's there in person at away games (but prepared to be wrong). Maybe some local ones perhaps? When he used to have co-comms at away games, like Wyndham, they would often refer to "here" - clearly they were referring to the Swansea.com. Was a bit of a give away.

Sorry… I meant that he’s .com when the Swans are away too.

For the Swans TV coverage … the effects mic is just from camera 1 in the stand. There’s no pitch side mics.

When we’re a featured game on Sky Sports they bring their full OB Unit and there’s pitch side mics too

Thanks for the info. I suppose it's a bit much to expect Sky quality audio from SwansTV. We should, as a minimum, have audio/video/commentary in sync though.

I haven't heard a game on the Player's listen live feature till I logged in for the 2nd half yesterday. For radio-style commentary it was TERRIBLE. It then occurred to me that what I think they are doing is simply using the Swans Player commentary - this really highlighted how completely rubbish it is having only one commentator (imagine trying to visualise what's going on without any pictures, not to mention almost completely unentertaining). It truly has gone downhill as a service.

Whispering AOC was at his soporific best yesterday. Maybe he's losing enthusiasm.
Something is draining him. Maybe it's the lack goals lol. Maybe he will be more enthusiastic on Saturday, I'm sure we will hear it a few seconds after what is on screen. Snync issues incoming.

I tried to play the audio option and the live video feed (muting Swans commentary) but it seems that there is even a bigger delay with home games. Cannot be certain but their audio option is from BBC Wales. I just want the audio to work at home games on the video stream and not be out of snync. Totally agree with the quality though. Off subject, it seems odd that they have removed Jack's at Home as feature half time. Again maybe it's cutting costs with graphics etc. As they are how using the main stream graphics at times.

If they haven't fixed the audio, his enthusiasm will be ahead of the video.
