Chris Davies was Brendan’s assistant at Celtic and Leicester and assistant at Spurs as well,Is Matos any different to Chris Davies who lots wanted him here he's worked under Klopp and Pep Linders so perhaps it's his time to go it alone
BBMThis is a serious question to which I don't know the answer but are there any young League 1 managers who we should at least consider? I'd rather be looking there than in the 2nd division of the Portuguese league.
Trust me, Clement isn't someone to be envious of.Norwich getting someone like Clement in and we go for this guy, sorry but it’s not winning me over, with the candidates out there I’m shocked how he’s ended up in the pile never mind on the verge of getting the job if reports are right.
The only major decision I recall them getting wrong on the football side is appointing Sheehan, and that’s what most fans seemed to want at the time. As for the summer business, I still don’t believe we’re in a position to judge any of them. This is a big call from the owners. In my eyes, they're under serious pressure to get some big decisions right. They took over last winter, and since then they haven't made the right call on any big transfer window/managerial appointment/managerial sacking.
If this goes wrong (obviously I hope it doesn't but the warning sings are as clear as day) people need to finnaly see past this celebrity buzz and hold them accountable for the awful decisions they've made since they've been in.
To be fair to him, Matos seems to have had more success in 12 games than Lijnders has had in his managerial career to date.Chris Davies was Brendan’s assistant at Celtic and Leicester and assistant at Spurs as well,
Matos was one of the coaches for Klopp, not assistant. The only time he was assistant he was sacked after three months.
Think he's a better manager than his Ranger stint implies, won the Belgian League with two different clubs. I'd have taken him, can't lie.Trust me, Clement isn't someone to be envious of.
I'm surprised Challinor is still at Stockport. Taken them from National League to the top of League 1, never finished lower than 8th in the league in his entire career or something mad. Skibula at Lincoln has been impressive for a few years, has them 2nd right now, and they're consistently top scorers in the leagueThis is a serious question to which I don't know the answer but are there any young League 1 managers who we should at least consider? I'd rather be looking there than in the 2nd division of the Portuguese league.
Yes, I’m seeing a lot of praise for that appointment but I don’t seem to remember him doing so well at Rangers.Trust me, Clement isn't someone to be envious of.
Its not exactly hard to look "organised" with the windows we've had in the past.Your first paragraph is bit of an over reaction to the current situation.
The summer window was one of the most organised this club has had in years and the decision to pull the trigger with Sheehan was done without a moment hesitation and was done when it was starting look fairly obvious he'd run our of ideas
Not sure what you're expecting if I'm completely honest apart from miracles. Its not exactly hard to look "organised" with the windows we've had in the past.
Was it organised or was it just better then the awful windows we had before? ST and RW, Grimes + O'Brien + Darling replacement were the most important positions we needed to address.
Grimes was replaced with Galbraith fair enough great decision. I'll give them that.
The other positions have been very very questionable and bordering on disaster.
Benson doesn't look up to it and will be sent back in Jan imo.
Idah is very very questionable he's looked a bit better in the last couple of games, but for 7mill its very dubious to say the least. Thank God Vip has hit some form (someone they tried selling btw) to cover for him.
Burgess I had my doubts when we signed him and again I think he's looked very shaky. Considering he's alot older then Darling and probably on more wages I'm not convinced its an upgrade.
O'Brien was replaced by Yalcoue who the manager didn't fancy even before his stupid red card. I think he looks promising but he's definitely a huge downgrade.
To be fair to him, Matos seems to have had more success in 12 games than Lijnders has had in his managerial career to date.
Still, I know it’s a very small sample size.
Is it a miracle to expect after 15mill spent to upgrade on more then one position??Not sure what you're expecting if I'm completely honest apart from miracles.
Only slightly better than Russell Martin.Yes, I’m seeing a lot of praise for that appointment but I don’t seem to remember him doing so well at Rangers.
