May as well schedule our next manager search in diaries now for March/April 2026. We’re not big on leaning lessons as a club are we.

Feels like they are going for a general style. By all accounts, Hellberg wanted to control the game and be hardworking off the ball. That’s the broad strokes of what Matos is about from what I’ve been reading. For me it’s encouraging that they know what they want in a manager. I totally get the concerns at the same time though.
I’m not sure anyone can be ‘about’ anything if they’ve only ever had a dozen games as a manager. And in a very inferior league at that.

I suspect every young coach who hasn’t managed would describe the same type of play. It’s implementing it with the players you have that’s the difficult bit.

We’ll be looking for a manager for league 1 if that’s the case.

I remember writing a post about the huge risk when Bradley was appointed. He had enormous experience compared to this guy.

I agree with the first part, that’s the risk we’re taking. 12 games of management isn’t anything really.

For me though, I don’t put much stock in the ‘inferior league’ argument, I think that matters more in player recruitment than in manager recruitment. If you’re good enough tactically, you can succeed. Plus it’s not like he is unfamiliar with the tactics and conditioning it takes to succeed in English football, having been at such a mentally and physically demanding environment as Liverpool.

That last paragraph is what matters most though isn’t it? I’m not even sure we have the players to play the counter-pressing game but I guess we’re going to try.

This is a big call from the owners. In my eyes, they're under serious pressure to get some big decisions right. They took over last winter, and since then they haven't made the right call on any big transfer window/managerial appointment/managerial sacking.

If this goes wrong (obviously I hope it doesn't but the warning sings are as clear as day) people need to finnaly see past this celebrity buzz and hold them accountable for the awful decisions they've made since they've been in.

I’ve made the same point, can’t see why they’re not getting scrutinised like the last lot. They’re getting a pass and if rumours are to be believed there’s a complete looney in charge of the whole thing. Bonkers.

Because people love a celebrity.

It really is as simple as that.

Is Matos any different to Chris Davies who lots wanted him here he's worked under Klopp and Pep Linders so perhaps it's his time to go it alone

Grateful for the money they've put in. I'll give them credit for that.

But they are showing the same levels of incompetence (if not even worse) as the last lot just this time it's actually more damaging to us because of the amount of money they put in.

This appointment is make or break.

Your first paragraph is bit of an over reaction to the current situation.

The summer window was one of the most organised this club has had in years and the decision to pull the trigger with Sheehan was done without a moment hesitation and was done when it was starting look fairly obvious he'd run our of ideas.

They've spent money and the club is a lot more organised off the pitch than it has been for years.

These owners are nothing like the last lot or possibly the ones before that.
