Much like the previous four, it’s not going so well. Until England fix the repeated failures at the top of the batting order, there is little chance of laying down foundations for a return to being competitive in a test series. Far too many cheap wickets given away, three for seven runs in this last spell of the game.

Aussies 3 down now. Effectively 148/3. Not looking good for England.

Was absolutely gobsmacked to hear this is Rory Burns 32nt Test! Goes to show the state of red ball cricket over here...

A pair for Warner means that anything which has gone before, or happens thereafter is declared null and void, with the series awarded to England.

He was hinting heavily at retirement, I bet this makes him have a rethink

Glorious victory is on the horizon in Hobart. I knew the late nights, early mornings and all nighters would be eventually vindicated. I’d like to thank my wife, Joe Root, Mark Wood and Steve Smith. Clearly the last two tests have shown that if we’d had proper warm ups we’d have smashed the bang average Aussies in their own back yard. Roll on 2023 and bring on the West Indies, the real main event this year.

They should go on to win this now after this start, if they have any backbone. Any flaws?

Our proven and hard as nails top and middle order will win this at a canter. Absolutely not prone to abject collapse.

I think in time we'll be hearing Stokes wasn't fit plus a few others like Burns should be exiled now from the test game.
We've gone through some openers!
Imagine Steve James in this era? He'd have played dozens of times.
