The Biden v Trump Thread

Biden would be far from my choice. But let's remember his hesitancy in speaking is partly due to a speech impediment

He can walk and drink OK though

If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Trump to remain in office. I don't think Biden inspires anyone to either change their vote from last time or get non-voters out. I also think Trump's 'base' has grown, despite what any polls might show.

Agreed on his base, particularly his African American base.

He got 8% of their vote in 2016, a pretty normal share for a Republican, in fact more than Romney got in 2012. Yet his current approval rating with African Americans is 30%. No, that doesn't mean he'll get 30% of their vote, but if he even gets 15%, that's a huge increase from 2016.

Probably. Amusing though.

It's about the same level of childishness as calling Biden 'Drooling Joe' to be fair.

And here's the problem. That video has now been removed as it was doctored:

"A 2011 video of Harry Belafonte apparently falling asleep was doctored to falsely depict Joe Biden
A video shared on Sunday by White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Dan Scavino depicting Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden sleeping during a local news interview is manipulated, according to Sacramento-area news anchor John Dabkovitch. The news segment, filmed in 2011, in fact featured singer Harry Belafonte, according to Dabkovitch, who co-anchored the program at the time."

Trump continues to deny stroke rumours and now encourages law breaking by voting twice:

So what Tumner says is interesting. I am sure he is right that Trump’s core support is strengthening. The question is is this in his core area that will always vote GOP, or will Biden as current local polling suggests win enough states like Florida and Pennsylvania. The vaccine announcement is very cynical,as even if it happens, coverage is going to be around 0.5% of the population at most by November.

"President Donald Trump on Friday said the growing use of mail-in ballots is the “biggest risk” to his reelection, and his chances may hinge on whether he can successfully block efforts to make voting by mail easier during the pandemic."

Donald Trump is 74. Biden would be 78 at any future inauguration and many people don't expect him to see out his first term. Reagan had gone a bit senile by the time he left office.

Shouldn't there be un upper age limit on US Presidents? If you're going to be over 70 by the end of any potential second term you shouldn't be able to run.

Sign my mates got for his garden in Michigan.
