Was lucky to get these 2 shots early last week before going down with the dreaded Covid :(

Little Bittern in flight - never easy to get a clear shot of these as they tend to fly very low over reedbeds making autofocus almost useless, fortunately, this one few a bit higher

I’ve got a question. We regularly fill up the birdbath and during this dry spell it’s attracting a lot of birds. Last week I found a chicken bone in it and thought a rat might have dropped it off. Then a couple of days later there was a piece of barbecued steak. Caught the culprit today - a Rook. Another piece of meat. Anyone experienced similar?

Oldest known Red Kite known as Aragon dies at 29 - brought over from Spain as a chick in 1994 as part of the hugely successful UK reintroduction scheme and no doubt an ancestor of some of the British chicks taken over to his Spanish homeland a couple of years ago to return the favour when some of the Spanish Red Kite populations were struggling. What a legacy for the old boy!

Not sure if this is an Egyptian vulture or A white boot legged eagle. Either way it was great to see while driving. Also saw another bird of prey, black with white tipped wings, no ide as what it was.

What country were you in?

Tail looks wrong shape and length for Egyptian Vulture to me so would guess at Booted Eagle. No idea about the one with white tipped black wings though!

It’s worth making a twitter account just to see this video.
