That's a beautiful picture Dar.
I have a friend in work whose husband is a falconer and owns his own business.

He has an online shop which is in its infancy. He sells face masks with one of his falcons as the design.

I really hope it takes off .....if you pardon the pun.

Nice Dick good luck to him.
I used to be a bit of a falconer.

How do you fancy one of these on your arm Darran, about 10-11Kg and a 9ft wingspan!!   Took this pic in Spain a couple of years ago.

Cute little thing!

Red-flanked Bluetails
Granted, after being dropped by BBRC in 2017 from its list of considered species, Red-flanked Bluetails no longer have the extraordinary lustre they once enjoyed as uber-rarities in Britain, but that’s not to deny their enduring chutzpah and star quality – they’re gorgeous wee birds and a prize of some calibre for anyone fortunate enough to find one in Britain.

We now expect multiple records in the course of the average autumn, so they’re not usually the stuff of the headlines in the way they might once have been – but with a couple found towards the end of the week marking the first individuals of autumn 2020, they’re getting honorary star billing this week.

On 27th one was discovered on Unst (Shetland) at Valyie, a site that enjoyed a bird only last year in October; followed swiftly on 28th by another bird further south, at Chalk Bank, Spurn (East Yorkshire).

More, surely, are to follow – they’re said to have enjoyed an excellent breeding season this year, so with any luck there will be plenty to go around in the weeks to come…

I've been worried about the low number of swallows and martins I've seen now for a few years, but on Thursday I took a walk up Graig Fawr between the Bont and Ammanford. Up by the trig point I was rewarded by literally hundreds of swallows, all making their way South to Africa. It was brilliant.

Very strange, after all our swallows disappeared for the winter while I was away 16th-18th September, I hadn't seen one since - until this morning when I opened our bedroom curtains and there were about 30-40 of them reeling around the field. Wonder if they're just passing through but surprised to see them nonetheless.
