So the club 1 place above us in the table don't want him back? Obviously players can be more successful at some clubs than others, but it doesn't suggest he'd be some kind of magic bullet signing for us.

Mind you, he scored 7 goals for Sheffield United last season, we can only dream of that kind of output from a winger.

Can be lots of reasons for that.

Don’t think we would take Rushworth back either even though he is an amazing keeper, we just don’t need one.

Wild guess but as mentioned elsewhere I can see a senior midfiilder around age 30 coming in on a short term contract. Not sure if Ollie will fit the bill but still possible.

Our record for playing loan players isn't great. Be surprised if we sign any in this window.
You only have to look at last January where our window was an absolute clusterfook!
Regardless of how things may be turned in terms of the Williams situation and only needing a loan or 2...the club were very eager to get signings through the door which led to Coleman racing around like a lunatic trying to get deals through the door in the last 72 hours.
This window is a difficult one.

I think Cooper was the last manager who had a big say in who he wanted to come in regards loans. Gyokres is a good example of a player being brought in that a manager(Cooper)wasn't involved in, ultimately the manager then has the say if he plays or not, not his player in terms of recruitment so very rarely played.

Cooper had the benefit of two seasons of Para payments and brought in the likes of Gyokeres, Kasey Palmer, Latibeaudiere, while Whittaker failed to be utilised not only by Cooper but also by Russell Martin.
Martin brought some beauts to the club-Rhys Williams, Christie, Burns, Sorinola, Okoflex and Stevens. Harrison Ashby, Sago Junior and one wonders what difference the likes of Congreve, Lissah and Wilson would have made if they were given more opportunities.

When we moved onto Martin, he didn't have as much say with who came in on loan and from that list above only had say in Sorinola coming in.
I can't argue that he and previous managers didn't utilise loan players better.
You can understand why players like Burns,Williams and Sago JR were not used but players like Gyokres, Whittaker and arguably Oxo Flex was criminal for not being used.

I'm not so sure on Gyokres being underused, honestly can't remember him that much during his time with us and he's not exactly setting the world alight at Arsenal.

Not saying you're wrong, I just remember that much about his time with us.

It’s revisionism. When. gyokores did play, he was embarrassing garbage. If he’d been picked there would have been an outcry.

With Santos going now hopefully for even a small fee (≈200k) the Ward signing makes a bit more sense. He's now the 4th Choice CB and 3rd Choice RB for the remainder of the season.

However if Casey goes aswell I do see us needing another loan CB.

Looks as if the deal is agreed subject to personal terms and the medical .

Let's hope Casey stays .
