• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

People still go to cinemas?

Quick Poll: when was the last time that you went to one? And taking the kids isn't counted.

For me, it's 2019, I just got out of the habit
Conclave about a month ago. We get 18 Vue tickets a year with our bank accounts and we use them up.

It’s mainly a kids thing, but aside from Conclave, I’ve seen the 2 recent Dune movies at the cinema.

it’s still a nice way to spend time, especially at the dine-in places with the big comfy recliner seats.

Whist we’re on the topic, I saw that Mufasa film recently in ‘4D’ and wasn’t impressed with being ragdolled around in the seats; f*ck that - hated it. The wind/rain/snow affects were nice, but the motion stuff was not.

Last time I went was to see Conclave, about four weeks ago.
We go to a great family run cinema in Javea called Cine Jayan, very modern and comfortable, and cheap as chips. 5€ on a tuesday for old fogies. They show English language films in original soundtrack and dubbed into Spanish on alternate days of the week. Me and Mrs Pego make it a special night out by having an early dinner first in a lovely Thai restaurant five minutes from the cinema.

Religion. file under complete and utter bollocks
Am I the only one who finds this opinion so derivative and tedious?

I hear it so often and it’s just so boring i don’t know where to begin.

I’m not a religious person but I completely understand why people search for meaning in life.

You can say a lot of problems of the world are based on sectarian religious issues but then you can also see incredible acts of kindness, compassion and love from people who are religious.

Eg look at Ramadan or the great works that church groups do with food banks etc.

Greed is a product of individualism, it’s the antithesis of what faith is about.

I don’t know, have your views but I can’t help finding them boring and lacking any thought.

Argh religion is the issue innit. Zzzzz

Epaul is completely correct. Grown ups believing in sky pixies. The world should be ashamed of such behaviour.

Pull every single religious building down or turn them all into affordable housing.

What next, burning witches at the stake.

Again tedious but hardly a surprise from you.

Some of these churches/chapels especially in big towns or cities would make for cracking pubs also.

And there we are nihilism, let’s make the cathedral a giant Wetherspoons.

This is the sort of World Trump would love. The reverse it’s a wonderful life.

Rampant consumerism, everyone out for themselves. Family unit argh who cares.

Well we’re already getting there aren’t we and doesn’t society feel so happy now.

Nevermind cheap beer here we come lads. What a wonderful life.

Tell me how much I get under your skin again, you massive fucking Fanny.

Cry because people don’t agree with your opinion.
How am I crying? I simply think you constantly talk a load of bollocks. That’s my opinion and you’re a bit of a dick with it. So I call you out.
