A few “Martin out” fans choking on their huge slice of humble pie. 😂

Well yes and no. I think most of the Russell out people were Russell out if he didn't change and we continued to play way we were which wasn't working. I doubt if we'd continued that way we'd have picked up this many points.

Our upturn in form has coincided with a number of changes that have been made:
- Benda has come in.
- O Cooper has come in.
- the new set piece coach has bedded in
- the emphasis on pointless passing without intent at all costs had evidently been dropped.

So Martin deserves credit for learning and having the balls to make the changes needed but it is him who has changed, not the fans who were justifiably questioning performances and tactics.

Agree with all of this.

RM was on a one way ticket to losing the fans (and with it possibly the board too) if things stayed as they were. This new approach has helped win over two different sets of fans, those who just want us to win and those who want to see us play positively rather than possession for the sake of it.

Not really.... Let me break it down for you.

Swansea losing and playing shite = Martin out

Swansea winning and playing better= Martin in

Not rocket science is it.

Currently the balance is spot on.

This was revolutionary seismic change thrust upon from above and percolated up from below. Discontent was rife.

By all accounts Martin was apoplectic when he was told to ditch the Fish and his Darling. Equally seething when recently told to not punish Oba any longer and include him in the matchday squad.

This is definitely not true, but never let the truth get in the way of a good story......!

Agree totally. I was all for him out. Now for whatever reason be it his Ego, Stubbornness or just he thought it would come good. That looks like it's passed. Bringing back in frozen out Benda and Fulton who he had decided there was no room for them under the way he thought he could get the team to play.
Results are coming under a different guise. The players seem happier because they seem to be enjoying this way of playing.
He keeps this up and i'll want him to stay.
See I can change too.

He's certainly changed Tact but we are still sloppy at the back. As opposed to overplaying we are now getting caught in possession a lot. When I watched the WBA game the home commentator kept saying a high press and they will give us chances. That's just the oppo fans who knowing it. Kyle is good on the ball but he is getting caught out the most. I think he needs a rest.

one word, Naughton

I suspect to a degree he's had to swallow a bit of pride and change some things. Reinstating Benda to the starting lineup and (mostly) ditching that stupid goal kick routine have improved things a bit at the back, but there's still plenty of work to do in the long run though.

We still don't have the midfield mix right for me. Allen, Fulton & Grimes are all a bit too similar. Two out of three we can probably get away with, but we do miss a genuine dynamic force in the centre of the park. Someone to take games by the scruff of the neck and drive play on.

Playing Ollie Cooper with 2 of those 3 is the answer. The young man has been playing very well since RM introduced him against QPR (I think). Long may it continue.

The midfield three of Grimes, Allen and Cooper was very well balanced and all comfortable moving and receiving the ball quickly. Ntcham and Fulton are very capable replacements but it remains to be seen if Ntcham can turn his cameos into performances over 90 minutes.

He made a good start on that yesterday but consistency has to be the buzzword for him now.

Yes looks like Kyle hasn't been told we've ditched the Kamikaze style. (Well, I hope it's ditched and not put on hold) ;)

It's interesting that we've done rather well since the tweak in style and since Joe Allen has been injured.

That implies we were decent before Joe got fit and started playing. Funny how you can be so absolutely wrong.

In the main I only post based on facts. As above.

Can't be arsed with second hand opinions, such as those gleaned from bumping in to Russell Martin's brother.

Horse's mouth, or not at all.

So, on that basis, Russell Martin told you that he was furious, did he? The words "double standards" spring to mind.
