The summer of test cricket - Ashes 2023

On the money this morning, Smith's wicket is going to be crucial to the way it will pan out today, as for putting them in last night rather than this morning my take is it was another bold and correct decision by Stokes, drink it in lads 👊💥

Jaxs knows his stuff see.

I'm not surprised that the arrogant Smith reviewed the call, even he must have known that it was plum.

Well, that was a tremendous morning session. Who ever said test match cricket is boring?

Good, competitive stuff so far. Hopefully the rest of the series is the same, as it will make for a good summer entertainment

Aussies have dug in well.

Will certainly be content with the likely weather disruption tomorrow

500 on the cards for the Aussies here, could have been far different if Broad hadn't over stepped the crease, it was a hell of a ball as well, cleaned Khawaje right out. doh!

Aussies in the ascendency now it seems.

With a bit of luck they'll get a few hours in the morning session but the afternoon/evening will be a write off I think

Probably won’t matter. I very much count this game will be a draw.

The best wicketkeeper/batsman in England is sitting on his arse watching a batsman/wicketkeeper making some terrible mistakes behind the stumps!!

I do love Ben Stokes , but sometimes get the feeling he'll pick his mates. Agree with you regarding Bairstow ( tho he's gotta play as a batsman), but picking Mohen Ali was bizarre. But they are big mates.

Which spinner would you have picked instead? And if Bairstow doesn’t keep wicket who do you drop to accommodate Foakes?

Amar Virdi and Callum Parkinson are 2 spinners been touted but not given the chances that Harry Brook been given similarly as a batsman. But it depends on your point of view.
