The 'Vitor Matos' Managerial Thread

There's a Portugese post online this morning saying Matos' release clause is £1m.
Significantly more than Hellberg would have cost...
I hope the club know what they're doing.

I don't think he'd be interested until the play offs are over and then the World Cup if we qualify.
I really don't think the Cardiff/Swansea thing would be relevant if the timing was right.
After all, Robbie James, Alan Curtis and Ivor Allchurch all played for Cardiff.
Todhack and Terry Yorath managed us, John Mahoney and David Giles played for us - all Cardiffians. Eddie May and Burrows were former Cardiff managers (though I know Eddie was a player when I was started watching the Swans).

Unless Wales don’t make the World Cup he might be tempted because he’s got the tools in his box alright. He’s doing magnificently well with Wales and the job and it’s lesser demands might be right for his family.

Would I have him here - of course !

Lots of Swans fans on twitter arguing that we are prepared to offer £1million for Matos which we should have just offered to Hellberg instead to persuade him

I think people seem to miss the fact that Middlesborough are a much better prospect than us currently. Bigger club, better league position, probably better facilities.
It’s very harsh to blame the club for not getting their first choice with the assumption we should have offered more money to him.

You could also argue that for so much money, we'd be better off doubling it and trying to get Brendan back. We are, after all, the club who "made him", so maybe he'd take up the offer. 1m for him is fucking bonkers.
