There's a three-way set of temporary traffic lights outside the Roger Blackmore garage in Sketty. But apart from the three sets of lights, each guarded by a couple of cones, there's no sign of any roadworks having started or imminent. Queues of cars along Gower Road...

But yeah. Re: bad weather. We've got dogs, so regardless of the weather they need to go out. Initially I hated the walks in driving rain but you know what? I've grown to love them. There's way less tw@ts out and about, my raincoat is the dog's b0ll0x. I get home afterwards and I'm pumped. It's brilliant.

Very windy dog walks are trickier as it means dodging the beach and trees, but basically I live in a frigging superb part of the world. And the weather here is nearly always interesting.

Stayed in a hotel his week, why do they put half a dozen cushions on the bed, they get chucked on the floor til you leave, what is the point

The Mrs does our's although its not a big task these days due to my pond and filter house taking up a good deal of the garden and my yard is all slabbed. up to my pond window.
That's handy! Mine is in 7 different sections, one of which needs the ride on as it's big and tougher grass than normal lawn stuff hence my preference to avoid doing it again this year! 🄵🄵

Stayed in a fairly expensive pub hotel in middle of Shrewsbury last friday prior to a family wedding. The wardrobe had those flimsy, bendy, cheap plastic coathangers, so when you hang your suit up, you find it on the floor in the morning.
If you're afraid of getting good quality coathangers nicked, put one of those rails in with brackets that the coathanger slots into.

I'm a (fairly!) keen runner - and there is absolutely nothing better for the soul than doing a 10k run in pissing down rain, up the Neath valley amongst the mountains. As you say, everywhere is quiet on the streets, you get back home sopping wet, tired, cold but also sweating hot - jump in the shower, stick a comfy jumper on and sit on the sofa with a cuppa while it continues to hammer down outside. Love it.
