The Play Offs approaching for a shot at The Premier League again and it’s absolutely dead on here.

No interest about who we’re playing etc... have people just become completely disinterested and apathetic?

This ok for you?

Premier league, that was fun. Profitable for agents and players too.

Forget the standard of football this season but we've been here before with the debate

I fell out of live with football in our time in the Premier League as leeches on and off the pitch took over. Seemingly normal people talked about "the brand" and it was clear that we had become another victim of the greed

Since relegation I wanted to get that passion back and 15 months if not going hasn't helped. There isn't a single game this season I have watched intently and yesterday I watched the last 20 minutes from pride Park rather than our game. Frankly most of our players don't care so not sure i would

I looked at the site stats the other day, there is always a large number of people on here but people don't use forums much these days so the site is busy but judge it by the forum and it doesn't look it so it's far from dead but quietly ticking forum posts but more people than ever reading articles and even the forum

The final thing is for many the last 15 months has changed perspectives on life and what's important and that will contribute

This site used to be for the fans, now it's been taken over by "swansnews".

swansnews is the site? It's just the mechanism that posts the news articles...that bit has never changed so to say its not for the fans any more is just plain wrong!

You can easily switch off your view of those posts by adding "swansnews" as a foe and therefore you won't see those topics (as I am so nice and helpful here is the link to do it https://www.planetswans.co.uk/forum/ucp.php?i=zebra&mode=foes&add=swansnews

I love a good Sunday where everyone criticises the hours that go into this site, I'm off to see my mother

I had a similar experience in the Toshack years, a lifetime following lowly Swans, the connection with the players! I was a regular home and away(when possible) First year in the top division, at my regular standing spot, or near to it from then on surrounded by faces I had never seen before, the Love wore off for a while, the difficult years appeared , and the desire not to see "my" club disappear , the craving came back , while those that were around me in the top division, vanished .

Your a Jack, it never goes away.

People access info quickly these days via twitter/Facebook.
Plus many youngsters can't communicate and can't post on forums at a length of a conversation you'd have with a mate.
There's a lot of issues at the moment in society and maybe football takes a back seat.
The money as well gets people either wound up or excited.
Apathy is probably the main answer plus fatigue.
A 46 game season takes it toll and if the side you follow continue to repeat the same mistakes and operates with the same constraints and limitations then it gets wearing.

First, just a comment on the opinion that the site has been 'taken over' by Swans News. I think that's unfair. anyone can post on here, subject to the usual constraints. I think Phil, in the guise of Swans News, is just trying to keep the site topical and provide info and talking points for people. We're effin' lucky to have him and the site.
As to no excitement re the playoffs, I can't speak for others, but I've been shellshocked by the fall off in results, standards of football and lack of management 'nouse' in the second half of the season. This leads me to dread humiliation in the playoffs, not look forward to them.
When we reached the Prem for the first time in 2011, Most Jacks were on Cloud Nine, and most thought that we had a core of quality players who could compete at the higher level, a very talented and intelligent manager, and a Board who would do what was required within their power to finance a decent attempt to stay up there. Now I think we have none of those things, and if by some chance we fluked promotion, I dread to think of the laughing stock we would become, playing week in week out against the likes of Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Does that answer your question?

We are not the starry eyed bunch we were 10 years ago. Another shot at the Premier League? In light of what the Pl actually did to our club last time, I can hardly say I'm trembling with excitement.
The longer you stay in the PL, the more important it is that you stay there, as we learned to our cost. It seems there that yo-yoing might be a lucrative business if you you dont try and stay in the PL. A less than honorable mission statement? 5 yr plan 3 promotions and 2 relegations.(Immediate relegations being essential) Sheff Utd stayed a season too long and spent a fking fortune on dog food. If they dont go straight back up it will be a bloodbath.

I agree. I had something on yesterday that meant me missing the game. Normally I would have tried to get out of it to watch the game. I just couldn’t be arsed.

Forums such as this one are a bit passé in the modern era with Twitter and all the other avenues available for posting opinions on anything and everything. There are routes you can take to encourage clicks and posts as can be seen elsewhere but I’m glad this forum hasn’t taken that unpalatable route.

Missed my point slightly Phil, or maybe I didn't express it too well. What I was trying to say is in the past everyone was having a go, and we used to have some really crazy posts on here, but no matter how daft some of them may be, they were very much part of the entertainment value of the site, Now I think the very professional approach of posting by swansnews loses something of the character of Planet Swans. We've lost some of the fans views, no matter how stupid they may be they were entertaining to the professionalism of swansnews. Surely the dwindling numbers prove that.
