Trade Up

Without causing a debate. I would take Sheehan experience or their lack of over anything that Williams or any prospect manager. Look if we bring in experience or someone who comes with weight then no problem with that, but Sheehan knows these players and watched 2 managers come and go and been amongst it. I feel on personal level this is why we are seeing results now. Not just a bounce but someone who has had to watch on and see faults and seen weakness and strength in the players. It's a difficult decision to make with what happens next. I would give him to end of season at least.
Now wrong with debate, although I’m off out in ten mins so it won’t be with me 😂

It’s not a case of Sheehan or Williams. If I was Coleman I’d be looking for someone who has already been tested at this level, and across a few different dressing room. Now isn’t the time for someone who is wet behind the ears.

It is an interesting question.

There were a lot of people who thought, earlier in the season, before the binfire that was Jan and most of Feb, that even though we were bumbling along quite nicely in mid table that Williams was underperforming with the squad he had, or at least some of the players were being made to look poorer than they were as a result of the way he wanted them to play. Vipotnik is the glaring example of why that might be true.

So is Sheehan just getting the appropriate level of performance out of the players Williams couldn't, or is he getting them playing above themselves?
Odd as this may sound I actually think Sheehan is getting them to play at their level. And doing the fundamentals of being in positions and playing to their strengths. Can Sheehan then make this team go to next level is another thing. Defo good question.

The reaction of Cullen to Sheehan at the end warms me to his chances. He's obviously got them relaxed and happier with life.

I don't think I'd fancy an experienced Alex Neil type like Miwaaw have done. So not sure, but I really don't see why we'd be deciding now. Sooo glad to see the back of Williams and Grimes (and Lego). Three years wasted on those.
Sheehan does something Williams never did. He won't take the plaudits for the performance when we win and allows the team to have their moment. He also stated that if we lose its on him. Now Williams could of learnt from this. Instead he was so egotistical and thought he was being a visionary by sending Grimes to do team talks while he sat in his office.

Don’t get carried away. Sheehan is giving us a bit of bounce, he has some significant limitations. And we haven’t actually traded LOB, we’ve borrowed him.

Well it's a fix going from 37 to 44 points which we wouldn't have achieved under previous skip and gaffer. All but secures us for this season at least.

Williams being garbage isn’t a reason to appoint Sheehan. Well done to Sheehan for delivering the recent points, but I don’t see long term progression under him.

Don't think anybody is advocating him as the long term appointment. The point made is he has guided us to a safer place so we can re-group

If Sheehan keeps getting a tune out of the players from now until the end of the season, the job will be his, and rightfully so. Interesting times, eh...
The last thing we need to do is rush an appointment. If this means Sheehan has five, six, ten more games then so be it. If he gets us top ten it will be hard for Coleman to ignore him as an option for next season.

Sheehan till the end of the season is nailed on. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him get it permanently, it’s what I’ve expected since Williams got binned.

He's getting the best out of our richly assembled assets

- The Quorum passed it's test and has now kicked on ++

Do not underestimate the power and enticement of leveraging current assets

He's learning, Franco and O'Brien were plugging gaps, last 20 though, we were a bit naive.. Burnley will be a different test, don't think we can be so open against them, like the 1st half today

What - like Roberto or Brendan
Martinez was in a very different era and we were in a much more desperate place. When Brendan came along we had a little more wriggle room if it went wrong. Both turned out well, thankfully. Here and now is not the time for a relative novice.

Then I misinterpreted your OP, wrongly assumed that your comment about an upgrade was in relation to him getting the gig full time.

Boro were terrible today, that wasn’t a test. Preston were equally garbage, although I wasn’t at that game so judged it from the chair. I’m pleased that he’s given us some respite and breathing space, but I don’t see a long term option here.
