Trust Legal Action Called Off

Well, i think it is clear now why Silverstein was in the country from December through to mid-Jan. And I very much doubt it was to deal with transfers, as has been claimed by the club.

And that suggests this agreement was tied up, all bar the documents being drafted and ratified, weeks ago, I'd say.

Funny how you read things and it triggers a memory

I wrote in the opinion piece about the Americans asking us in 2017 if there was any way we could do a deal without reference to our members. We told them the legal opinion was we could but the decision was too big to be taken without consultation. The result was the deal that was presented - not a perfect deal but makes this one look like a lottery win.

Clearly this time they asked again and the answer was very different and the result was yesterday - a carefully orchestrated and timed release a few hours before the Trust AGM. So cleverly timed that one member of the Trust board continually said "read the statement" last night as if he felt that in four hours people hadnt had chance.

" Read the statement" what an arrogant arse hole and him and the other fukers need to remember that they represent the members, they are supposed to be the "guardians" [complete joke] and are answerable to the electorate, its obvious that the time they've spent sitting in the soft seats and enjoying the other addon's have given them a sense of being something other than what they are and have got a sense of entitlement.

It’s one of the darkest days for Swansea City football club & we’ve had a few .

They should be at the forefront of any new supporters group that could emerge

This has to be one of the most stupid posts this year.

The trust failed it's members because of the ineptitude of such 'B' teamers. From the Off, and beyond.

And folk now want the same level of ineptitude of 'Smart people' to represent them ?

FFS, beyond words.

Well we can argue about this forever but the names mentioned above wouldn’t have accepted this deal and that as they say is a FACT.

If you think that of them, what do you think of the present incumbents then?

I appreciate and understand the sense of betrayal you and most supporters feel
However some perspective :
1) The time we sought re-election
2) The day the locked the gates prior to the Walsall game
3) The Petty era and the consequent fight to save our club
4) The time when had we lost to Hull, we would have lost our league status.
In comparison, while the whole Trust settlement thing stinks the more I learn about it,
it still leaves us with a solvent club with no current debts sitting basically mid table in the Championship with no threat of relegation this season and potentially better things to come next season.

At least 9th in the list of many though Darren ?
I would also add to that list the day we sold to Petty, the day we sold to the Yanks, the day Silver Shield took over, the relegations following our first division days
There were many prior to my supporting the club such as Tom Kiley getting injured which many old times cite as the reason we didn't get up the first division in the fifties, plus our relegation in the 60's which saw us kicking around the lower reaches for 14 years?

Agreed. Losses on the pitch, getting screwed by owners with no interest in the club and financial difficulties I can take.

The Trust just rolling over in this manner is very difficult to take. I keep thinking back to the Trust many years ago and it feels really sad. I can’t begin to imagine how people who have invested significant time in it over the years must be feeling.

It also shines a light on the sellouts again too, doesn’t it?

IMO there are people walking freely around Swansea (and even attending games) who have absolutely no right to be.

Yeah. Only about 9th on the list of shittest days to happen to the club in around 40,000 days. Cheer up, everyone.

No current Debts?? Has Silverstein just given the club 10million out of the goodness of his own heart then? Of course he hasn't that debt and other debts that we are yet to know about are gonna need to be repaid at some point.
When was the last time anyone, who could be trusted saw the books so to speak?

Spot on. I’d rather them have gone to court and lost everything before this.

The Trust chairman doesn’t even know the answer to that and he signed the deal off ffs.

That's the thing, mun, FFS.

Far too many on here are too accepting of mediocrity. Mediocrity up against proper commercial nous.

Why on earth settle with 'B' teamers from the off ? 'B' teamers enhanced with 'C' teamers like ECB and Lisa who have both failed us, massively. A Finance 'affiliate' who knew nothing, nor delved deep enough to know anything.

A proper shite show from start to finish, in so many ways.

The worst bit right now is how the shite show is now blaming the next version of the same shite show.

Warra a complete shite show, The trust almighty.
